In the beginning I really thought that the rioters were the extreme right members of trumps supporters and i was deeply embarrassed (unlike dems who were proud of their rioting and looting) and seeing it in multiple places that the trump speech was the reason i thought that was correct because trump can go off the rails at times. That was my fault. I should have watched the actual speech. I'm sorry "I know you will march peacefully and patriotically to the capitol and make your voices heard" in not incitement to riot. Then the timeline comes out from the end of the speech and the initial surge and most trump supporters would not have had time to get there. Then there was a left wing activist just arrested for his involvement in the riot and now this comes out. I am really re-thinking that this was a spur of the moment attack. I really wish we had the no nonsense news and investigating reporting that we used to have.

Was this a pre-determined attack?? I'm waiting for what else comes out.

Ex-Capitol Police Chief Says Requests For National Guard Denied 6 Times In Riots

The former chief of U.S. Capitol Police says security officials at the House and Senate rebuffed his early requests to call in the National Guard ahead of a demonstration in support of President Trump that turned into a deadly attack on Congress.

Former chief Steven Sund --who resigned his post last week after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called for him to step down -- made the assertions in an interview with The Washington Post published Sunday.

Sund contradicts claims made by officials after Wednesday's assault on Capitol Hill. Sund's superiors said previously that the National Guard and other additional security support could have been provided, but no one at the Capitol requested it.

Sund told the Post that House Sergeant-at-Arms Paul Irving was concerned with the "optics" of declaring an emergency ahead of the protests and rejected a National Guard presence. He says Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Michael Stenger recommended that he informally request the Guard to be ready in case it was needed to maintain security.

Like Sund, Irving and Stenger have also since resigned their posts.

Sund says he requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack on the Capitol. Each of those requests was denied or delayed, he says.

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser also wanted a light police presence at the Capitol. She reportedly wanted to avoid a similar scenario as last summer, when federal forces responded to demonstrators opposed to police abuses who assembled near the White House.

During Wednesday's violence, Bowser requested, and received, a limited force of 340 from the D.C. National Guard. Those troops were unarmed and their job was to help with traffic flow — not law enforcement, which was meant to be handled by D.C. police.

When the mob reached the Capitol complex at about 12:40 p.m. ET on Wednesday, it took about 15 minutes for the west side perimeter of the building to be breached, he says. The Capitol Police contingent, which numbered around 1,400 that day, was quickly overrun by the estimated 8,000 rioters.

"If we would have had the National Guard we could have held them at bay longer, until more officers from our partner agencies could arrive," he says.

Sund says during a conference call with several law enforcement officials at about 2:26 p.m., he asked the Pentagon to provide backup.

Senior Army official Lt. Gen. Walter E. Piatt, director of the Army Staff, said on the call he couldn't recommend that Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy authorize deployment, Sund and others on the call told the Post. Piatt reportedly said, "I don't like the visual of the National Guard standing a police line with the Capitol in the background," the Post reported.

It would be more than three hours before any National Guard troops arrived, well after the damage at the Capitol had been done.

In the interview, Sund also issued a warning to federal officials, saying "if they don't get their act together with physical security, it's going to happen again."

There could be a video of pelosi, biden, and hillary smashing windows during the protest and it wouldn't matter

"Peaceful protesters bravely exercising their 1st amendment rights" because Dem :homer:

EDIT: vs. 2 dudes w/ MAGA hats standing around = "white supremacist, right-wing terrorists" :homer:

Why resign his position if he did the right thing and was denied? I understand the pressure and ridicule that would be placed on him but him quitting does not support his case at all and simply allows for the coverup.

I thought you worked in the federal system? Resigned means you get to retire and keep your pension. Terminated means you dont. At his level hes not a bargaining member. He has no real protection. Basically the people he answers to said resign or we will terminate you and make sure you dlose everything.

Not as easy as that. He was the fall guy.

im not at his “level” but I’m non-bargaining also. They can’t just fire me. Whatever their reasoning would take months worth of investigating before it went full circle for removal.

It was not a "deadly attack on congress". What a ridiculous claim. Substracting out deaths from natural causes (of which on average you can expect 20 per day for a crowd that size) there were two fatalities associated with the protest. Of course any such fatalities are unfortunate but relative to comparable events the Jan 6 protests were remarkably safe and free of actual violence.

He was most certainly the fall guy. That was my point. Youre not at the executive level. At that level you can be terminated at will and if they want to punish you Im sure they coulld make a case negligence or whatever. You can fight it but the legal expenses will drain you and I dont think PL insurance covers that. Easier to take the resignation/retirement and get that cushy "consultant" spot theyre offering on the side. You dont get to be chief/director of any agency without knowing how to play the game.

What I find interesting is that with all the cameras nobody got footage of who cracked Officer Sicknick with the fire extinguisher. Or if they did why hasnt it been released? Or if it has I havent seen it.
Again I have no doubts that thats what happened from people that I trust with without pause. Not on the bad guy side for the agents combing the intardwebs.

It was planned out to distract us from the election fraud and all the other crimes being committed. It was the false flag to usher in mass censorship and control of information and the internet. There is video of Fox reporting a "violent riot" at the Capitol at something like 9:30am, HOURS before anything actually broke out. They all knew it was coming. Watch this tinfoil video, and decide how much is tinfoil and how much is truth:
