EU threatens Musk if he doesn't censor Trump X interview

It's amazing to have one of the titans who run the world on the side of good.

Musk has shady self interest. People of his place in society tend to pick two paths toward realizing their goals, they either seek to convert money to power and then use the power to have control over how money gets spent and on what (see for example Soros). Or they try and be so wildly fucking rich that they can fund their pet projects mostly on their own and their buddies/investors dime (Fordlandia comes to mind).

Musk is just the first one to openly state that he doesn't think society is on a path toward being rich enough, stable enough or capable of thinking long term for long enough to pull off his pet project so therefore he seeks to make progress on those fronts. He basically said all this shit himself around the time he bought X.

This is why you see him advocating for a conservative (small C) approach to many things but basically never going so far as to advocate for anything that could be destabilizing in the medium term and disrupt or delay the societal progress, stability and wealth accumulation he sees as necessary for going to mars. But he does actively advocate for walking back the bullshit that's obviously bad for society in the long term, particularly the identity politics and race baiting divisive bullshit that the left peddles to try and get their way.

So basically Musk is your ally if you consider his pet project goals and chosen means of achieving them benign.

I'm sure he would be a tyrant if he thought that was a realistic means to achieving his goals.

They would never do that because it would be counterproductive.

So his shady self interest is to make mankind rich, stable, and wise enough to go to space and possibly save humanity from an eventual apocalypse.

I think we just said the same thing.

His shady self interest is to go to mars. If he has to settle for a lesser goal that can be accomplished through tyranny or things change such that his goal can more easily be accomplished through tyranny I expect him to go all in on that front.

Well, yeah, but he's not just excited to frolic in the low gravity. His stated goal from the start has been to put our eggs in another basket.

Or maybe he knows something we don't, and it is all baser drives...

I'd would say our courts are a joke, but what they have become is not funny in the least little bit.

Our courts do NOT care about the truth. They only exist to process as many cases as they can, as quickly as they can, with as many convictions as they can, truth be damned.

Our courts will happily send 10 innocent people to jail to prevent "accidentally" releasing 1 actual criminal. When it should be the other way around.

Meanwhile the Deep State is having their puppets release actual violent criminals from prison while continuing to knowingly send innocent people to prison.
This is one of the reasons immunity for the scam system needs to end. There should be severe consequences for fuck ups like wrongful convictions. Their lives should be destroyed just as bad as the people affected. This is also why every trial should have a time when you can tell them what you really think without a bs mean ouchie word contempt charge

Good, fuck 'em. Wanna do things legally then great. Want to be illegal then get treated as such.

Fuck it all then. Snatch some fresh young ones and get into the sex trade :homer:

The biggest opponent's of illegal immigration up here seems to be the trade unions. Companies bring illegals in, "hold on to their passports for them," and have them working long hours for fuckall pay. One outfit i heard about has been giving $200 "cash payment" every 3 or 4 days, and never paying the balance. Even the ones who are here on a legal temp permit get fucked over, and there are fake employment law lawyers bilking them for what they can, people who are "helping them out with housing" and they find themselves at big illegal grows working for room and board...

I had no idea the scale of it until a couple months back.
We got a fingerjoint mill up here that hires FOB Indians. The guy who owns it and the mill manager are a couple of big time scammers. Owner says "you wanna work here, ya gotta work a month for free to see if you're any good" Mill Manager says "You wanna stay working here you gotta kick me up 10% a month or down the road you go" Then there's this little old Indian who sources these guys in India, he gets 5%.

Oh and let us not forget this place is the most unsafe place I've ever seen, missing digits are not uncommon and if ya go for Compo you are down the road all the while earning around $19 an hour.

They (the employees) could fix this guy in a big way but they won't make any moves because they are afraid of deportation, even though they are here legally.

There’s an old Humphrey Bogart movie ( The Treasure of the Sahara Madre I think? ) that had this as part of the plot, so it’s a time proven scam to fuck over those without the ability to fight back

... but every now and then, they’ll catch up with the weasels and get a little payback

Shellenberger: Biden, Harris Behind Brazil X Shutdown

Worldwide attacks on free speech ramp up

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, along with Democrats haven't formally denounced Brazil's censorship of X because they "not only support the censorship but have also been directly funding it," investigative journalist Michael Shellenberger claimed Sunday.

"The Biden administration and Democrats have played an influential role in instigating censorship in Brazil," Shellenberger wrote in a piece for Public, which he shared on his Xaccount. "The FBI went to Brazil and gave its Supreme Court justices advice on how to censor its population. The US government has been funding many of the NGOs in Brazil that have demanded censorship since the election of a populist president there in 2018."

He added that when he testified before Congress this past May, "Democrats on the committee and their witness defended Brazil's censorship."

Brazil started blocking X early Saturday after the company refused to comply with Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes' order to name a legal representative in Brazil.

The move marked an escalation in a long-standing feud between X owner Elon Musk and the justice over free speech and the potential for misinformation.

"The world took a giant leap forward into totalitarianism yesterday as the Brazilian government blocked X, formerly Twitter, and threatened to fine its citizens $8,900 per day if they use it," Shellenberger wrote.

Brazil has joined North Korea, China, and Iran in blocking X, he added. The country is the world's sixth-largest by population and has the world's 12th-largest economy.

"It doesn't matter whether or not you care about Brazil," said Shellenberger. "Its totalitarianism is at risk of spreading around the world."

Meanwhile, he said that Brazil's government-funded news media is urging censorship to benefit President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva's Working Party.

"It's up to Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco to impeach the Supreme Court Justice turned dictator, Alexandre de Moraes," Shellenberger added, "and Pacheco yesterday affirmed his support for Moraes."

Moraes this week defended censorship as a way to keep "extremist populist groups" from coming to power, but Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr pointed out that his move violates the Brazilian constitution and its protections for political speech.

"The totalitarian takeover of Brazil is a model for what the Democrats and the legacy news media want for the whole world," Shellenberger further claimed, adding that "pro-censorship scholars at Stanford and Harvard," as well as congressional Democrats and the U.S. news media recognize that the First Amendment blocked their plans.

This has led to censorship efforts in nations that lack strong free speech protections to censor and block X, he continued.

"It's important that we fight back," Shellenberger wrote. "We need to show our support for free speech. I urge my Brazilian friends to stay on the platform. Everyone knows that it would be extremely difficult for Moraes to enforce his insane decree, much less fairly and equally. "

Further, Biden and Harris must denounce Brazil's actions, as it's "incredible" that Carr is the only U.S. government official to speak out, Shellenberger said, calling for congressional hearings.

"A worldwide free speech movement can pull Brazil back," he said. "It's time to make 1984 and 'Animal Farm' fiction again."

On Thursday, X CTO and Executive Chairman Elon Musk offered his services to help the federal government, and by implication to former President Donald Trump, whom he has endorsed, for free.
Musk issued his statement in response to a story in The Wall Street Journal titled, “Trump to Adopt Elon Musk’s Proposal for Government Efficiency Commission.”

“I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed,” Musk wrote on X.

“The commission would conduct ‘a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government’ and make ‘recommendations for drastic reform,’ the Republican former president plans to say in an appearance before the Economic Club of New York. The goal would be to identify ways to eliminate fraud and improper payments, according to portions of the speech viewed by The Wall Street Journal,” the Journal reported, adding, “Trump and Musk have grown close as Musk’s political views have become more conservative. In a recent conversation on X, the entrepreneur suggested Trump form a commission tackling government spending as a way to address inflation.”
On July 13, the day a shooter attempted to assassinate Trump, Musk endorsed Trump, writing, “I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery.”

In a mid-August interview, Musk told Trump he “would be happy to help” in a Trump administration.
“I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent in a good way,” Musk said. “And I’d be happy to help out on such a commission.”

“I’d love it,” Trump answered.
The Wall Street Journal reported in mid-July that Musk had pledged to give America PAC, which supports Trump, tens of millions of dollars per month.
The political action committee is focused on “registering voters and persuading constituents to vote early and request mail-in ballots in swing states,” the report said, adding that the group wants to neutralize the massive advantage Democrats have had for years with their “get out the vote” campaigns.
