Truck is a 2005 v10 Super Duty. Stick shift with electric transfer case.

It will not go into low range.

Goes into 4x4 hi just fine.

Plugged my scanner in and watched live data while trying to shift.

The GEM is seeing the command to shift to low from the switch. Sees brake pedal but clutch interlock status doesn't change regardless of input. I also pulled the switch off and manually moved it. No change.

Strange part is that the ECM sees clutch pedal just fine. Starts every time, kills cruise as it should. And everything on the scanner changes as it should in the ECM data.

Anyone know what pins on that clutch switch got tue the GEM that I've got to probe or bridge to test?

Just throw a switch at it?

Pull the harness apart and try to find a broken wire?

Just throw it all out, wire hubs to toggle shift, and convert to manual shift?

Does the neutral switch work? I’m not sure, but I think it’s got to see N position to engage LO solenoid.

Sounds like your deep into already and knowledgeable. Have you confirmed that the motor is not getting voltage? Via voltmeter or test light.

Does the switch have 4 wires or just 2?

4 then change it for sure.

2? Throw a switch at it anyways??? :grinpimp:

Well, clutch switch didn't fix it.

I think it's wires somewhere.

I'm leaning towards converting to floor shift case and wiring hubs on a toggle because I don't really want to tear into the harness to find the bad wire.

BUT, if this 4x4 low wire is fucked up then there's likely other wires messed up too.

giving up on the esof, it is getting a lever and a linkage.

I know the electric case can be adapted to take a lever. but there's a manual case that is semi-local, cheap, and comes with the shifter stuff.

Will a case out of a diesel work on my gas truck? how about an auto to my ZF6? I know patterns and shit is the same, but splines may be different?

I was told there were two different input splines for those t cases, but cannot 100% confirm.

V6s and V8s had different input shafts, wouldn't surprise me that diesels were that way too.
