Elton John has first #1 in like 20 years

I've heard that quite a few artists have been cheering on Elton John's new song.. trying to push it to #1

Welp, I heard on the radio today, that his duet is #1 officially

Side Story About a Concert of his:

so when I made good money I would see lots of good concerts, and once I even saw Elton John down here in Laredo Texas.. its a big indoor stadium, large enough to have the Monster Truck show inside.. which I used to work.. but anyways..

one of my dad's first cousins was in charge of the security for events (pres of Police Union).. so I've heard some great stories.. about different groups..

however I have also heard spoilers sorta.. like things you didnt want to hear..

at the concert I went to, there was this scene where Elton John got mad at a security guy who was trying to keep some fans back.. who were trying to rush up to the stage to take pics.. and he told the audience he wasn't gonna play anymore until that particular guard gets thrown out of the building.. this story should sound familiar to lots of people, becuz apparently it was all staged.. this sorta thing happens at many/most of his shows..
 
If that's a number one song then it's forced. The music is terrible. I could pull it off any modern keyboard. And, I'm an Elton John fan.
It's an okay song, but it's fucking terrible if we're talking hit quality.
 
Elton John's last good album was Captain Fantastic. Everything else after sucks.
 
I know all the New York times bestseller books lists are all manipulated and fake .

I assume they do the same with songs .

That is the only explanation when a horrible song is claimed to be a number one

If the New York Times lists a book , isn’t it automatically a bestseller, by there standards?
 
Everytime I hear of an old artist coming back like this all I can think of is, "Dang they must've run outta money".

I've listened to it. Its got a decent beat but thats it. Great if you need a playlist for running/exercising. Haven't figured out the "duet" part but I guess being a backup singer in the chorus for a bit grants you that.
 
I saw him on his current (covid postponed) tour in Memphis at the FedEx Forum in late '19.

I'm a fan of a lot of his music. He's a peculiar fella for sure, but most crazy famous/wealthy/talented folks are.

The craziest thing I took away from that concert was watching his hands play the piano. There were large screens behind him, video frequently zoomed in on his hands on the keys. He's got some short, fat, little sausage fingers, and has a ring or two on just about everyone of them. It's almost unbelievable how he can play the piano with those fingers. He's like a bumble bee, physics says they shouldn't be able to fly, Elton shouldn't be able to play the piano.

Jewels and I won 1st place at a Halloween costume party a few years back, I was dressed like Elton from the cover of his Greatest Hits album; white suit, hat, big bow tie, giant sun glasses, silver platform shoes, and a cane. Jewels was a "tiny dancer," she's 5'4-1/4" and had on a ballerina outfit. I rolled my ankle like 3rd step I took in those platforms, so I needed the cane the rest of the night. :laughing::homer:

I mean how the authors and publishers manipulate the sales so they all occur in one week ,
So they get included on the list , for one week , never to be seen again .

Had not heard of it until now. Gave it a listen. Typical run-of-the-mill generipop. Listenable but that's about it.
 
I like his old stuff, but that is recycled crap.

And the video of middle-aged fat guys dressed up like K-pop tween kitties?!? Wat? It's cute when my 12yo daughhter does that- those dudes look like fabulous pedos.
 
Remix using auto-tune = listenable dogshit at best but nothing admirable.
