I am looking into a lift pump for my 03 2500HD truck. I have heard that the lift pump will help with throttle response and help with a little more reliability when towing my trailer. Any advice on a lift pump on 2500HD with an aftermarket lift pump helping on these trucks or does it seem like a waste. Truck runs and drives perfectly but curious how it will help on the truck long term. Thanks.

I've been dealing with Kennedy Diesel for years for my 6.5TDs. I have no experience with their DMax stuff, but would expect it to be high quality based on my experiences with the 6.5TD stuff.

He offers lift pump kits and pieces for the DMax: Kennedy Diesel

Imo duramax doesn't need a lift pump until you're chasing HP, something Luke 500hp

The lb7 does benefit from better filtration and fuel additives

That's all info I picked up researching my lly, so somebody deep into lb7s may have better info

my plan is a CAT filter and 2 stroke oil in the fuel tank, and a primer pump O ring kit behind the seat

I use a fass lift pump with the factory filter deleted. Changing filters and draining water is fast/easy and they give you a list of filters so picking up a replacement at the local store is easy.

Only problem relays don't last long for the power supply.

My first pick is the Fleece in tank replacement. I used a FASS pump on a LML and after a failure because of their return design they wouldn't warranty the unit even after they admitted that they changed the design of that kit because of failures like mine. we ended up buying a new pump for nearly $400 and fixed their stupid return setup. After that interaction with FASS I will never recommend them to anyone. AirDog makes the same setup as the FASS.

OK the previous owner changed the fuel injectors and it runs/drives great I have heard some people saying to upgrade the fuel filters will help prevent future issues. So what filter setup should I look into for my 2003 LB7 2500HD? Thanks

The factory Racor filters are very good filters, the cat "upgrade" might have a better micron rating but it does not have a water separator. Where people run into problems is using cheaper aftermarket filters, even the replacement Wix filter is not as good as the factory filter. If you really want to upgrade filters you almost need to go with a dual filter setup with a water separator, lots of guys do that and leave the factory filter in place as well with a lift pump install.

The kennedy lift pumps are great, you only need 3-4psi to make a big difference on these trucks. I've found that if you get up past 8psi or so you might run into a funky idle issue.

I like the Kennedy lift pump because it is flow through if it takes a shit.

I suspect the Kennedy lift pump is a 12v solar heating circulation pump.
Something like this

Did you ever end up putting on a lift pump and if so did you notice a big difference?

I never did lift pump BUT I just had cylinder 1 injector take a shit and had to get that replaced. Cat fuel filter setup and filter housing is still going strong and I have the stock one I rebuilt in my truck just in case the one on my truck takes a shit.
