Driveshaft repair.. can I/do I need to?

I probably used too small a socket driving the u-joint caps out or something but either way I damaged the yoke a bit and I'm wondering if I can and/or should fix it with my MIG welder and an angle grinder:





I imagine the snap-ring isn't going to care either way but what do I know? Going on a early Bronco with a mild 302 and probably not going to see much worse than a fire road.

No, the post that rides inside the center bearing.

Honestly, the whole thing is toast. Put it together and run it. When it blows up then replace.
