I had a somewhat similar occurrence about a week ago. I was looking all over the internet for a 22.5-25hp kohler engine for sale that fit the shaft size I needed and wasn't $1700+ dollars. Finally found a site that was extremely reasonable on their pricing and free shipping. Looked and they had the right HP and shaft size that I needed for like $975! I was stoked at first then I realized it was just too good to be true. Looked at the site info and found out they are located in Malaysia and after your first purchase you can pay through a credit card or paypal, but on your first purchase you must do some certain bank transfer thing...

Still seems very scammish, but definitely two different motors/trans. A couple of the same pictures were used in both, easy to see which one they came from though.
