My wife (and I) has two little designer mutts. They have soft fine hair, and probably get bathed more than they should (because allergies). What is arguably the best shampoo so their skin doesn't dry out?

I had all sorts of allergy issues with my pup when he was younger using “dog” shampoos. Switched to head &shoulders and eventually Suave shampoo and he ihas been great ever since.

Our small dogs get flakey skin. We use Malaseb (or generic) from Amazon. Lather them up good, and let set to 10 minutes then rinse.

Bonus I found is that it slows down fleas pretty good too....

How often are you washing your dog that 16 dollars is an issue?

I'll take that question as I think you got the wrong thread since it's not an issue for the OP. :homer: ........Because I'm a cheap bastard. :flipoff2:

No, really. Dawn dish soap.

It's what they use when they find dogs or birds covered in oil, etc.

I dunno man, I use it whenever I get oil on my brainbucket and afterwords it's always like a snowstorm when I ruffle my hairs

I always thought this until I lucked out and found this dog for my wife. He's hands down the best dog I've ever had. Turns out he's my dog now more than her's. Useless for anything else but very loyal, smart and loving.
