I would wager that it just gives the pavement a little extra layer of protection. Like a drag strip launch pad.

If the pastor could say anything to the driver, it would be this: ““We know who you are. So if you just want to come and talk to me and that way take care of the damage and we can settle it there, but if you don’t want to let us know who you are, take care of it, then I’m afraid we will have to turn it over to the police department.”

cosmetic damage is still damage....

and depending on the age/quality of the asphalt, yes it could be tearing it up/ digging holes

Asphalt will tear out. Cleetus is an authority on burnouts and he did portland cement instead of asphalt on his burnout pad at the freedom factory for a reason. How much damage per occurrence is up for debate.

If it's hot enough; offroad tires can cut deep grooves in asphalt.

can confirm!

i thought i'd enjoy the last bit of life my "bald" dirtbike tire had, ended up digging a hole a couple inches deep into some asphault :homer:

Yes, my buddy did a huge burnout with his dually. It left some gouges and a beautiful set of number 11s. This was about 8 years ago. You can still see the gouges.

Ever burned a tire down till the cap comes off youre spinning on the steel cords?

I dug a 3/4" hole in the assphalt in about 30sec.

Yes. Serious damage can be done but generaly no.

Hell, I think the congregation is being pretty reasonable.

not looking to fuck some kid's life up by pressing charges, just wants the parking lot fixed.

there's for sure some gouges where the tail whip happened and it sat for a second.

I give the burnout a 8/10.

Cleetus to the courtesy phone please, Cleetus to the courtesy phone. Thank you.

Cool Starry bra time. Probably a parishioners kid. It was well known among the kids that the donuts left around the light pole in our church parking lot were laid down by one kids older brother (whose name I forget 45 years later) in his 67 Barracuda. The younger brother died street racing a few years later in a weird twist of fate that made the older bro feel guilty.

is this a fast and the furious movie yet?

cause I feel like it could be.

Just whipping a shitty won't do more than leave black marks. Doing a sitter or slow moving brake stand of course will heat up the asphalt and dig ruts.

Cleetus did concrete because of the volume of burnouts that'll happen on that pad. Concrete isn't nearly as susceptible to breakdown from spinning tires but if you do a long enough sitter it will still get rutted a bit.

Hot day, hot asphalt, can damage. I can probably dig gouges in my street on a 100-degree-day just by going out and driving in a circle with lockers on, just the crosstorque will lift and shove soft asphalt around. On the plus side, it'll "heal" somewhat from heat cycles and traffic too. The softness is why I won't asphalt my driveway, if I'm spending on site prep, I'm getting concrete.

How many donuts are you eating and are you jogging in place? :flipoff2:

The end of my asphalt driveway is proof burnouts cause damage. Lesson learned and I'm too cheap to fix it.

I would wager that it just gives the pavement a little extra layer of powered sugar.

I voted damage. But looking at the video/pics. A quick re-seal with a bucket of sealer and a little white paint and you would never know it happend. Still costs money so = damage.

Yep, just like graffiti.

Like Dildo said: not his property to fawk up so he should fix or pay to fix.

YES, weight gain, narrowing of arteries, other health issues.

Leave a fraction of bitcoin for this beneficial information on any of my threads.

I worked at a drag stip, yes it damages the surface. Especially hard compounds (avg street tires) vs soft compounds (drag radials). Douchebag dually coal rollers tend to be the worst at tearing up the surface due to high torque, hard compound tires being able to boil the water in the porous surface. Which is one of reasons a lot of drag strips dont let street cars dive through the water box and do burn outs

This is why there is a concrete portion where the bleach box is.

Memories of OCIR from early 1980's.

It does pull loose asphalt out, even just glazing across it quickly in a slide. Sit in one spot and you can dig a nice set of holes.

At first I thought, meh, no damage. But when you see that they just resealed and painted the lot, it's damage. I do think they are playing the "disrespectful to God" a little heavy though. Kid probably just saw an empty parking lot and went at it, I'm sure he wasn't thinking about how he hates the lord
