How many guys have built one? and not the little swag type setups. i have their 20 ton setup with all the accessories. I have drawn up a 48" press, 51" wide between frame. should be capable of 115 tons which will do 1/4" at full width.

What is the reason for dual rams on this set up? There was a good build thread years ago on the old site, with a similar design. Your bed and ram need to be much deeper.

dual rams gets me to the tonnage i was looking for, one is a 4x14, the other is a 3.5x24 both at 3000psi fed off one powerpack. The bed and punch holder are 12" deep. i'll be using 1/2" and 1" plate for the majority of it, along with I beam. im sure i'll also add some gussets to corners. I found a couple pics of that thread, but couldn't find the thread on the old site.

I think a large single ram mounted to the top frame horizontally is a better choice. The linked rockers are the way to go for this design, make the top link adjustable to square it up. The bed and ram for the tonnage you want to apply should be much deeper. One of my brakes is a 4' 35t machine, and the ram is 2" thick and maybe 16" deep. You have plenty of space below, and plates cheap now.

yeah, I figured i can always move the bed down if needed. to get the tonnage, it would take a higher ratio in the arms and make them longer. I'm thinking keeping them short as possible and adding a ram would keep it stronger. i'd have to get a 6" bore ram at a little over 2:1, at that ratio it would need to have around 10" of stroke. I haven't had luck finding a cheap ram with those specs and rated to 3000psi. throwing around ideas and different designs. I'm a little ways off from starting to fab this thing up. after some reading on one of threads above, i'll be going a lot heavier on the punch holder. i have 2" 4140 that i'll turn down and have heat treated for pins.
