This is Steve.:grinpimp:

In my lifetime I've seen thousands of them critters roaming God's green earth. That one makes me sad.

I've got a deer hang that he'd fit on. :flipoff2:

Fuck that! I've got a fully decked-out butcher room with 17 feet of 3 ft wide stainless steel table and everything we need to make anything you ever wanted to make with that poor sap.
That poor bastard probably be glad we came to kill him.

Yea, my inlaws are at some hotel place this weekend, and they have a caged in moose they've been sending pics of. They've never seen one in person before. Kind of chincy and sad.

Be a shame if that fence broke....bummer is, he'd either be poached or hit by a Barney Trucking truck.

I don’t think he’s too unhappy. You should see all his ladies out back that he’s gonna have his way with in another couple of months. Don’t get me wrong, I have no use for canned hunts! These guys aren’t in that kind of deal. He raises em to be made into elk steaks.

Not gonna happen. It is pretty strictly regulated and has to be inspected before any animals are allowed. Barney Trucking will never have a truck coming down the little lane we live on. :flipoff2:

I guarandamntee you domestic raised elk is not nearly as tasty as wild elk.
That meat on that one is as white as a pig, what little meat he does have. Not to mention all the hormones they are pumping into him to make his antlers grow.

That I did not know. Course I have never been around butchering of a pen-raised elk. Makes sense though.

I have no doubt wild elk is better tasting. But I know beyond a shadow of a doubt they aren’t putting any hormones into him to grow antlers. I know these guys pretty well, they live right next door and we’ve been friends a long time.

Never had farm raised elk, but I'd definatley be willing to try it, especially from a place that looks that nice. Hell, there are people on this board who have fewer accommodations than that elk looks to have. Makes me think of wagyu:lmao:

I don't know, I had plenty of farm raised venison down in NZ, tasted about the same as the pests running around my back yard.
