As part of my Camper build in the Other Builds forum, I ordered some vinyl RV striping for the side of the van after paint. The order was placed April 2nd on Amazon, and the delivery window was April 10-16. I wasn't concerned, because I am still waiting for the weather to warm enough for paint. The 16th comes and goes, then the expected delivery date was changed to Apr 18-22.
On Apr 11, there was a tracking number generated for DHL eCommerce, and says it was tendered to the delivery service provider on the 20th, 4 days after it was supposed to be delivered to me. I had sent a message to the seller on the 19th, asking when they planned on shipping the package, but it was met by crickets. Oh, well... keep waiting... and the 22nd comes and goes. On the 24th, the tracking still showed the same, tendered by DHL, but the USPS was still showing "Label generated, USPS Awaiting item" as of the 11th.
I canceled the order on Amazon and requested a refund. Of course, Amazon processes it on Sunday, and suddenly I get an email from the seller, "Elliot Jonah". The threat of taking the money back seems to have awakened them... and the grammar doesn't lead me to believe there is anyone named "Elliot" working there.
"Hello, we are sorry that you have opened the Amazon AZ application. We apologize for the delay of the package. When you send us an email asking about the status of the package, we will reply and reply that the package is in transit. It may be due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus and changes in the weather in the United States. The package has been affected. We hope you can wait patiently for a few more days. . But you did not reply to us. Today, we saw that you have opened the AZ application, which also indicates that you have rejected the proposal. We have given you a full refund or resend. Hope you can understand. If you see this email, I hope you can cancel this AZ request. We would be very grateful. "
This morning, I opened my email to find an incoming package from "Air City Post." I verified it, and it is the same tracking number, and USPS finally updated the tracking to say it arrived at the destination facility at 6:39am and is out for delivery at 8:05am.
Hmm... Amazon issued the refund for the missing package, but now the package is arriving 2 weeks late.
Amazon's customer service tools leave plenty to be desired, so I don't see how to re-contact the guy (likely in China) and give him the fifty bucks again, nor can I return a package they have already refunded... anyone dealt with this before?
