Debate prep

You will never be able to trust the media on being fair and non biased with their reporting. They hate Trump which in effect really means, they actually hate trump supporters or conservatives mostly. They’re no longer the media, but are in fact water carrying Democratic commie propaganda machines.

It’s truly a sad state of affairs that we live in today. 🥹

Time gets busted for lying about Trump and had to make a correction later. So there’s so much TDS in the media that they don’t even verify their bs before publishing it.

TIME Magazine Forced to Issue Embarrassing Correction After Calling One of Trump’s Debate Claims ‘False’

Y’all know the fix was in on that debate right? Shame on you if you don’t believe it

Problem with not tax on tips is that 77k pages of tax code contradict that campaign promise and will result in a shitload of lawsuits.

Parents, appropriately, will “tip” their children $1m, and the IRS will throw them in jail for tax fraud.

I haven't worked in the food industry since I was in HS, but back then servers got taxed only on their wages, (usually min wage), so they were getting most of their income tax free. Then the code changed where the server could "report" their tips for taxation, and since it was cash a lot of the time they'd under report...big surprise. OR they could be taxed on a formula based on the gross receipts of the restaurant. Maybe that's changed, I dunno.

Lot's of people still work for cash, and they're damn sure not reporting all that to the .gov.

So I've got a running email thread with my mom who doesn't believe the media is biased toward Trump. Any time I find a solid example (not just beliefs and feels), I send it to her. There have been some good ones in the last few days.

I'll try to phrase this in such a way that it sticks this time: Kamala did not kick ass, Trump shot himself in the foot. Getting facts right had nothing to do with it. Thinking the average American wanted to hear and/or believe(even if true) about people eating cats in Ohio rather than how Trump's immigration policy was better than Kamala's had everything to do with it.

Seen a handful of polls that showed independents thought Kamala won the debate but also were more sympathetic to Trump as they thought the moderators were being one sided. I don't think that debate really changed anyone's minds about anything.

Nate Silver has something like a 99% success rate in election predictions also said his model showed a 65% chance of Trump winning after the debate which is a huge shift from what his previous model showed. He's a democrat who's vocally against Trump as well and stated he's voting for Kamala.

Yes, we should, and there is a much better way to talk about that than claim there is a rampant problem with people eating cats and dogs. I looked into it. There is some truth to his claim as 1 person got charged with animal cruelty after they found her with a cat she killed on the street. One instance. That's it.

He would have been better served talking about the large number of immigrants being shipped in and and the issues the locals are having with raising rent due to those immigrants being given federal aid money to buy up all the housing in the town. If I understand and articulate those problems as a lowly middle class state worker who does nothing but ride his bike and drink beer all day, I would expect the past (and hopefully future) President of the United States of Fucking America could also pull it together for a few seconds to address the problem in that way.

As a young coach, my first year, we got into the state finals against this old dude who had been around forever. I was the young upstart, playing a more modern game, but, in the end, he had a better team and we lost to them 5-4 in a really good game. The games were partially carried on the news because the games were during that 5-7 window, so, during sports, they'd do a remote. Right after the game was over, Alan Cutler (the sports dude) interviewed this guy and he said, 'you know alan, the lord watches over us and sometimes good things happen to good people.'

Then he went on to say how he really thought they'd beat us by more, but we 'got lucky with some hits and some calls' and that was why it was close.

I saw that shit at 10 pm after getting home. I was like 'fuck that guy' it was a good game and fair and we could have won, we just didn't win that day. It was a great year for us and everyone should be happy, not this jesus got us a win shit.

The next year, we beat those guys 3 times. the last in an early round of the playoffs (by draw) and we beat them soundly. They had a good team, but my kids HATED that dude. After the game, the state journal sports guy and a guy from the herald leader (who I drank beer with) interviewed me. They knew (because I'd told them about the bullshit the year before and they said they knew the coach was a jackass) how I felt, but their reporter thing kicked on and they thought 'oh he'll roast this coach' and get even.

Instead, I congratulated their team (henry clay high school) and coach on a great year and a well played game and said we looked forward to our next opportunity. Those guys still added in that there was 'controversy' after the comments the other coach made the previous year and that many 'parents and boosters' on both sides had been upset about it.

The other coached called me and went on and on about how unfair it was and why did I say those things and blah blah... I guess he called Steve (one of the reporters) and his editor to complain too.

Trump is one of the wiliest competitors we've seen in a long time. He has taken the Roy Cohn method to its extreme and had TREMENDOUS success with it. Part of that is never accepting any defeat nor any setback. It isn't 'never give up' or 'get back up' it is I never went down, you lied and if I win, I should have won bigger because you cheated or I didn't lose, you cheated.

That debate should have been a cakewalk for DJT. He knows those issues. He knows his stance. He knows how to talk about it. He didn't prepare, he let his emotions flare and he didn't take her seriously.

David Muir and Linsey whatever her name is are nobodies compared to Trump. Do you really believe that the three of those people are more savvy than Trump? Trump is a giant. He is the master of the deal. He negotiates with the world's tyrants and brings them to his knees... how on earth could he be 'that guy' but be waylaid by some lightweights?

There's been an overwhelming positive response from Springfield specifically because local and state authorities have completely ignored them on all the insane shit they've been going through. None of the government, state, local, or Fed, clearly gave a shit when they decided to dump 20k uneducated people from the poorest country on earth on a town of 48k or 58k people. Hell, no town can just take an increase of 50% in population within a couple years and be ok regardless of where those additional people came from.

It doesn't matter which part he focuses on, they'd "fact check" him and say he's lying. Could have focused on the massive increase in crime in the same area and they'd call him a liar and statistically they'd be "right" because they're simply not charging these people with the crimes they commit to intentionally obscure the crime stats. All of the data surrounding all these illegals is intentionally obscured so it can't be argued against.

nate missed 2016 by a TON.

he is not as good as he would have you believe.

I don't think the debate changed anyone's mind.

I think anyone who knows what will happen is guessing.

Frank Luntz and Nate Silver are both in the business of selling dreams...

Thats the real story. Crazy to think they could drop off that many folks and completely change the demographics and culture without causing major problems. If you look at the behavior of where they come from they kill cats for voodoo and just to eat. At the very least I think they are killing wild ducks as I read some articles about local hunters pretty pissed off over having to pay license fees to hunt and the haitians get away with not. Same with the driving situation. No license or insurance just drive around and fuck everyone up. Sure trump could have worded it better but at the emd of the day now there is a major spotlight directed at the entire situation.

Sure, but which one makes a fence sitter think "maybe he's right..."? Rampaging illegals eating everyone's pets but no one talking about it except for the meme lords or the federal government making a huge blunder by failing to estimate the impact attempting to relocate 20lk refugees to a small town with no infrastructure support them. #2 sounds pretty common out of the fed playbook and is verifiable enough. #1 sounds more over the top than a bad B movie.

Eh, people are also emotional rather than logical generally speaking. People's pets being stolen and eaten appeals to emotions a hell of a lot more than crime stats do. He can do what you suggest, but they're just going to play the race card or say he hates immigrants.

You have to remeber how the media fact checks. They will focus on one single super specific detail and discredit the entire conversation. Okay maybe they havent been caught killing “pets” maybe just stray cats and whatever else. If you wake up in the morning and find your dogs head in the yard maybe it was a bear. I heard that personal account to.

You know that is all that debates are, right? Wording something properly to convince viewers that you're position is valid.
Nope….unfortunately its not that simple. some people were turned off by camels facial expressions and all the ani racists hate trumps orange skin. Thats why camel also got a short little podium. Lots of other things go into the popularity contest

We can armchair quarterback all day. I think I'm most disappointed in the fact that Trump has policies and solutions to current issues that are far better than Harris, has the experience of being the POTUS and can speak to the practicalities of his experiences, and has plenty of ammo for all the crap Biden/Harris did in the last 4 years to compare against his relatively successful 4 years in office, and yet he chose to jump in with cats and killing already born babies.

and yet he chose to jump in with cats and killing already born babies.

Was also a true statement that was fact checked as false in real time. Camel blatantly lied about a federal ban which as trump pointed out is now a states issue and crickets. There were other times trump started going in and making points and was cut off and yes goated into taking bait. Hard to stay on message with a coordinated pile on.

I generally agree, but I guess that's the difference between being new to supporting Trump or not. He's been saying the same off the wall shit since 2016, I'm well past the point of it bothering me. He's clearly not going to change in that regard. I think the country is past the point where that really matters, it's in such terrible shape and so obviously so over the last 4 years people have their minds made already.

Obviously I can't prove it, but I don't think there's been any real shift in the way the election is going to go whether we're talking a year ago, today, or November. Barring anything crazy like WWIII breaking out, one of the candidates dying, or saying something completely career ending you could have the election today or in November and the results wouldn't be meaningfully different.

It isn't hard to stay on message if you did some debate prep.

Fair enough. Do you somehow think enough other external factors changed people's minds over the last 4 years?

I think the general state of the economy and increase in stress on resources and increases in crime are more than enough. People can't afford to live right now regardless of where you fall politically. The economy is such a dumpster fire that even the upper middle class is hurting. It's been such an increase in such a short amount of time that people can remember not struggling as much under Trump. Nothing has really improved in the last 4 years for anyone generally.

The Biden admin has gotten away with murder in regards to basically everything that in the past would have tanked a candidate. We live in a time period where people are willing to overlook things like the disaster of pulling out of Afghanistan, your son smoking crack on camera or leaving coke in the White House, or clear bipartisan weaponizing of the Justice system. But, your policies have huge impacts on every day finances and then you overload the country with illegals who are clearly being prioritized above helping the homeless, food stamps, etc while driving up rent and people don't forgive that. Even in places like Chicago or NYC people are absolutely fed up with it. If Trump went to the Bronx in 2020 and campaigned I don't think he'd have gotten the massive turn outs he did this year. Even in the most liberal of areas of hard Blue states he's drawing massive crowds. That's not getting into huge demographic shifts like black and Hispanic voters swinging to Trump.

I don't think many people are willing to admit it, but I have a feeling there's an awful lot of people who are just going to hold their nose, vote Trump, and just not talk about it. The bullshit court cases against Trump have led to a huge demographic shift in the black vote and illegal immigration has done the same thing with the Hispanic vote while Dems have done nothing to counter it other than Kamala suddenly pretending she's black instead of Indian. Imo she's going to see record low votes from black and Hispanic voters. The Dems have counted on them as guaranteed votes for far too long without doing anything for them and they're finally starting to see it.

Can't argue with those things. I might be because I'm in the entrenched liberal bastion of California, but I'm worried because I see a lot of people here not even considering Trump while at the same time they complain about the economy. With a lot of people here, there's still some sort of stigma(unfounded or not) that Trump is a racist misogynist and that somehow makes everything else not worth consideration. Hopefully other parts of the country are going a different way.

My opinion they are ratcheting up wrecking fhe rest of America as people flee CA . Springfield ohio perfect example. Cant have a harsh contrast between liberal shit holes and conservative american dream towns.
