Obesity doesn't "cause" diabetes but the same types of dietary and sedentary lifestyles that lead to obesity just so happen to also lead to type 2 diabetes.

Ummm, no. There have always been lazy people who did not eat well. There are other environmental and societal factors at play. I am assuming that you are not as long in the tooth as I am. When I was a kid it was rare to hear of someone with diabetes. Now the drugstores have entire aisles dedicated to it.

How many had diabetes and weren't diagnosed? Obesity rates are through the roof compared to when you were a kid. Of course there's more diabetes now. Let's be honest, the average American build today is borderline obese.

You are buying into the party line, my friend. And from the WHO to boot.

Diabetes has not always been a problem for humankind. And there have always been obese people.

Plus the fact that mainstream medicine keeps moving the goalposts. Recommended BMI and fasting blood sugar levels continue to be moved in directions that benefit the party line AKA big pharma that wants everyone on maintenance meds forever.

Before you start posting line graphs do some research into how the liver works in conjunction with glucose and the relationship to insulin.

There are 2 types of diabeetus. Well, 3 if you include the pregnancy type.

Yes, there have always been obese people. What you're not recognizing is the number of obese people. Being 50-100lbs overweight was not common in 1982 america, but it's very common in 2022. Type 1 is childhood mostly hereditary, and aint no amount of healthy lifestyle gonna fix it. Type 2 is because you're a fatass that eats shit every day in great quantities. And if you got some excercise and didnt hit the drive through every day, you either wouldnt have it at all, or at least it would be very mild and managable. This has been proven millions of times, type 2 desk for life guy gets in shape, eats healty, 2 years later whatta ya know the type 2 'beetus is almost gone. YES, skinny healthy people can have type 2... but it's actually really rare.

This has nothing to do with party shit. We are world record fat, and moving around less than ever before. We are by avg. the fattest, most inactive generation of homo sapien ever on this planet. More of us eat more unnatural foods than ever before in history.

I always think about that famous picture from Times Square on VE day, no fatties in sight. Now go to anywhere in Houston on any given day and you'll see pods of whales waddling about.

Unhealthy food is widely available and is a helluva lot cheaper. Meanwhile all this body positivity bullshit basically tells people that not only is it okay to be fat but you can also be fat and healthy. At the same time, modern conveniences and technology also means we're the least active people in the history of humanity. It's not a good situation and we're seeing the results.

There was one of a beach, dont remember which one, but crowed as fuck... like modern day compared to 1960-something?

2000 skinny people with a couple of chunkys, now 2000 whales and chunks with a couple of skinny people.

Goalposts... Mmm hmm.. Beetus A1C. BP. Both of which former numbers used to be fine, then the goalposts were moved. It used to be A1cbelow 7 was good, then 6.5, now 6. Why the change? It could possibly be that the science changed, but the profits of lifetime maintenance meds cannot be ignored. Bp below 135/95 used to be good, bow they say below 120/90 only. Once again, the same conclusions could be drawn.

Meh. I'm not obese, but they sure moved the goalpost and got my A1C odf6.2 ensnared in their beetus numbers. I don't even like sweets, it drives my woman nuts that I never eat desserts or candy, and avoid starches and carbs (always have naturally eaten this way). Lots of meats, nuts, veggies, minimal sugars, processed food, etc. But the change in what's considered a "good" range makes me sound unhealthy. High BP. Low LDL. high A1C. All of which the numbers were considered good in 2000.

That's more about the shame fatties used to carry vs. the big and proud ones we have today. Back then, you wouldn't catch a fatty dead in a bathing suit, but today they love flaunting the rolls and cottage cheese in bikinis and spanx.
