Dark twisted movies, looking for them

Why not watch both?
Thanks for these suggestions, I’ll give them a look. Think the original Straw Dogs would be the one you’d look for? Sam Peckinpah is supposed to be the man, but I don’t know that I’ve ever seen one of his movies.

Dark movies:

Kids
seven pages and surely Kidz was mentioned.

Was this movie banned or something weird? I cannot find an American released version to purchase.

What I’ve been doing since the start of this thread. I made a list and buy 4 of 5 at a time and throw them on the shelf. I watch one here and there as I can make time until I run out of them, then I go buy another 4 or 5. I’ve looked for kids every time I buy a new batch. You gotta be careful buying movies off of Amazon and eBay. There are dicks that sell movies in the US that are not compatible with US blu ray/dvd players. Read the fine print, right now the only copy of kids I can find for sale is an imported disc. Meaning wrong language and not region code correct.

Oops, I forgot to mention I’m trying to buy everything in blu ray instead of DVD. I’ll probably just go ahead and buy that dvd version instead
Not everything makes it to Blu-ray. Especially the lesser known stuff.

DVD is still a thing.
For kranky old kunts like myself. Yes!

I am actively going back to analog. Digital streaming is cute but if you don’t have a hard copy you don’t have jack shit. Now that there are no rental places. It’s getting hard to find certain things. I don’t trust Netflix Amazon and apple to keep a full library open.

I may start buying my own DVDs and blu-ray as well. Can't ever get the fam to watch any of the movies I mention from this thread.

When I was a kid I watched urban legends. The part with the dog in the microwave fucked me up for a long time. I had nightmares after that :homer:. I never knew what movie it was until this past Monday when my wife was watching it. It's not scary now but it was when I was 8.

We got to watch that in high school :smokin:

You need to rip your movies to a plex library. It’s way easier than you would think. Then you’ll have your very own JR4Xflix that you can stream to any device you want.

Dude, I've seen what you build. You definitely have the brain power.

RIP = Copy your Blueray/DVD to your hard drive using a program such as Handbrake.

PLEX = Free program that turns your library of movies into a nice streaming platform like Prime, Netflix, etc.

There is a certainly a deep rabbit hole for the nerds to go down, but the basics above nearly anyone with a pulse should be able to pull off.

Dunno if this fits, but I saw that the main actress in Alien: Romulus is from Springfield, MO. Trailer looks as good as the original. Scenes are a kind of dark that I like.

I buy used DVD's off eBay for a few bucks each. They have buy a certain number, get one free deals. I bought a lot of 75 DVD's for $45. I kept the ones I wanted and donated the rest to Goodwill. I mostly watch them when dry camping in the RV. Last time I was camping, I binge watched The Sopranos series over about a month, 2-3 episodes a night.
