Dana 18 transfer case

I am having a bit of scope creep on my long term project.

I have an SM465 and a Dana 300 with a 6 round Novak adapter. This will all be bolted to an LS.

This is going in a Willys jeep approximately 85” wheel base.

I’ve been thinking about deeper gears and running an overdrive. A Dana 18 would make this possible. Current plan is 4.56 with 35s But I could go 4.88 or 5.13 with an OD

Dana 18 powered with an LS? Whats the good bad and the ugly? I have a Dana 18 case here

Don't fuck with it. Stick to the plan. LS won't care about a few hundo RPM at speeds you won't be spending a ton of time at.

A t18 won't love v8 torque.
My flatfender pu had this setup.

Buick nailhead v8, t90 ,t18 warn od and rancho od.

I could create a gear train leak at will with the throttle.

Then change rear axle because the 18 is offset. I would run 35’s and 4.88’s with an LS no problem.
