What's new

Cybertruck: no thread here.

There was a time way back when that I had some friends who worked for Enterprise. All manner of stock vehicle was tested in pismo. I was most impressed with what a stock liberty could do with 8psi in the tires, but a crew cab long bed super duty was close second.

CCLB Super Duty’s do decent off road because the front and rear axles are in different zip codes, so one always has traction.

In 2wd they will get stuck in sand a Civic could drive through, and if you’re in mud, don’t let them stop moving.

meh, take some air out.

the point is all the drivers are likely idiots.

and btw. I tow a camper all over,, I go to every sand dune I can, with a 2wd Superduty.... I wouldn't trade it for a civic, and that's not for just the towing. especially since iirc all of them in the last 10yrs have lockers. Ive been very close to stuck once, loaded camper on hook, but was able to climb out dropping a little more tire air and more pressure in the bags. truck been to every dune you can drive in and beach in WA and OR. saint Anthony's, little Sahara, sand hollow, glamis etc etc. for what I do i'm probably better off with 2wd and a locker than 4wd and open diffs

I have done way more difficult off road conditions with a 2wd sd than where i've seen many of the 'stuck' pics. i'd bet most of these ct drivers would be confused if you told them to let air out.

For sand, absolutely  Mid-'80s at Pismo renting ATCs, we saw a dude in a 429 2BBL Ford station wagon out on the sand highway making it look easy. I'm sure a lot of it was skill, but dude was still sailing a boat of a wagon on the sand :grinpimp:

There's a pretty big difference between 2wd shit with a camper in the bed and 2wd shit empty.

Been to Glamis how many times? St Anthony? Little Sahara?

Please, tell me more.
"Blah blah blah . . . boomers . . . real wheeling is on snotty rocks between trees . . . figured out the dunes from my cubicle . . . snooty vacation resort town people all suck . . . Spot awn. :lmao:

Hey dumbass, you know that both costs have beaches, right?

A generic AWD crossover of any brand is going to run circles around an unladen 2wd pickup. This isn't exactly a bold claim.

You idiots can unironically get cancer and suck start a shotgun on this one. The shithole where I grew up was an overgrown sandbar. I actually have way more hours fucking around in sand pits or on the beach than I do fucking around in the woods. There was a point in my life when I was able to hit the sand pit for a couple hours every week. You can fuck off with your "five annual trips to Glamis" of whatever.

And yes, if you fed every person in a snooty vacation resort town into a chipper humanity would greatly benefit. You'd be ridding the world of a couple hundred Karens and "retired shithole escapees who are the problem" for every good dude.

So that's a no? :homer:

Answer the fucking question ya fucking dolt. I was very specific for a reason. Those that know, are laughing their ass off at your beach drivel.:lmao:
You asked a specific question because you're a dumbass who can't help but disagree with me even when I say something that's common knowledge and now you're looking to move the goalposts.

I'm well aware that if you can keep the speed up and avoid slowing or stopping in unfavorable situations you can do pretty alright in 2wd. Wide open areas where shitty people like you go to recreate (i.e. glamis) make that pretty easy. But at the end of the day there's a reason sand rails are short wheelbase and have the drivetrain sitting on top of the driven wheels.

No I've never been to fucking glamis. Nor do I really want to. Yes I've tooled around on slopes as steep as the sand will support. I hope your shit gets stolen in new Mexico.

Again, you avoid the question and start flinging poo. Is that cause you know you're talking out your ass about something you don't really have any real life experience? You should be used to being wrong by now.

Keep up the weak insults though. Makes me smile knowing some dipshit from massivetwoshits is so angry at nothing.

Nope. Fuck right off with that you dishonest west coast piece of shit. You're the one who brought up Glamis as a distraction. I'm not going to indulge you.

All I did was say that 2wd with some serious weight over the axle (camper) is gonna perform a lot different off road than 2wd empty. This is not exactly a groundbreaking assertion, as all the dumb old boomers (:flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2:) who used to throw a bag of sand in the back of their 2wd pickup in the winter will attest. You're the idiot who couldn't help but disagree with that, probably because it was me who said it.

Pretty sure hes in oklahoma or arkansaw:laughing:
I was figuring west Texas or Colorado.

Arkansas would surprise me. Southerners don't usually go off half cocked trying to disagree that the sky is blue because they don't like who said it.

:shaking:

I brought up 3 places.

Desert sand ≠ snow or beach sand.

Please, keep telling the class how much you know.

I'm not in disagreement with weight for traction, in instances. See, I never disagreed with you. I simply asked you a question. Then called you out for not answering said question. Your temper tantrum says a lot. Maybe you take a vacation and see the world outside your bubble.

You're gonna have a stroke.

Oh, I'm from the desert southwest btw. So, you're wrong on so many levels it's funny.

Spotted my first truck in the wild yesterday

Appropriately at Home Depot

Larger than I thought it would be. Parked on contractor isle among 150’s and Chevys.

Cab forward and linear design triggered a Lara Croft memory or two. Like someone skipped all design process and went from drawing on a napkin to final production.

If I was an early adopter yuppie living in my 15 minutes of suburbia I would definitely rock one. I am not. I won’t. Holding on to my man card, F350 dually belching black smoke sign of Freedom - for now

If I was a contractor of any sort dealing with liberal white woman or their beta husbands here on the front range I would rock one as proof of my save the planet green credentials. Might as well max the tax deduction.

Seen several Rivians as contractors truck’s recently, perfect application for an e truck.

Didn't read much of this thread.

Anyone say that they look stupid as fuck?

I actually find that they agitate me.

I saw one driving the other day and I rolled my window down and gave them the finger.

Why, I am not sure but it just felt like the right thing to do.:flipoff2:
You need one for the rental shop :smokin:

People would trip over themselves to rent it for a day because it's so ugly, and nobody could drive past without staring at your logo
