Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out brakes for axle, without spending crazy dumb money on them, budget build Dana 60 rear. Got the mark Williams weld on bearing cups to use the 05+ superduty unit bearings, and want to use all of the shelf parts, so I need 8 on 170 rotors. Problem is all the weld on brackets I can find say for a 12.5" rotor, and the superduty rotors I've found are 13". I found some lighter gvw rotors, but they don't say what the diameter is. If that's a dead end, anyone got a drawing with the dimensions of a weld on rear brake bracket for the Chevy caliper everyone uses? I can sort it out once the time comes, but would be nice to have the parts when I get there so I'm not waiting on that, thanks!

Mark Williams has brackets that bolt on for their brakes, but it's $1625. I'm looking for stuff I can find at my local Napa

And I'm pretty sure these are specific to the 05+ superduty unit bearing. They're bigger than the 99-04 I have in the front

Take a piece of 1/4” thick plate heat and beat so it’s a half wrap around the axle tube. Weld it on, weld the bracket to that.

That or buy the dude at the local machine shop lunch to spin 1/4” off the rotor OD.

Yeah figured I'd just have to do some measuring once I get it that far, set the caliper on the rotor and get the distance, there's a website my buddy uses to get one off parts like that built and they can do it primo quality for less than what I could ever do myself.

What does mark williams say?
I assume the gm/ford/dodge all use the same unit brg cup.
IIRC this was covered in the SD60 thread on the old site.

The Ford '05+ unit bearing bolt pattern matches either the GM or the Dodge, I forget which, but the Ford knuckle bore for the bearing is larger so you need something to take up the space and locate the bearing.

Need something to take up space to locate the bearing? I'm not following

I just looked up a 2003 F350 rear rotor. it lists the OD at 12.83" with a 5" center hole diameter.

Napa Part #: NB 4886823

that gets you a little closer if the center bore is the same

The index on the bearing fits in the bore the same way the index on a spindle fits on a knuckle.

The bolt patterns match but the index on the 8x6.5 bearing is smaller so the bore won't locate it resulting in more force on the four bolts/studs that hold it on.

Oh gotcha, I'm just planning on using the 05 up superduty bearings, already have 8 on 170 wheels.
