Had Intacs installed on one eye on Monday. Wasn’t fun.

today’s follow-up was cross-linking. Best way I can describe it is take a dental hygienists polishing tool, and use it to sand down the cornea. Then an hour of drops and UV...

the doc said recovery sucks. Huge understatement so far. Curious if anyone else has had it done and how long the healing time was....

I have a huge meeting tomorrow, and I do plan to wear a pirate patch.😁

Extra points for speaking like a pirate for the whole meeting. AAAarrrrg!

I had rk eyesight correction. Couldn't do the flap due to eye surface irregularities. Pain was substantial for 24hrs. Ask for more numbing eye drops, do let them run out as you will greatly regret it.

They turned down my request for numbing drops, actually, as they said it tends to slow healing....

Yep, I was told the same thing. I ran out the first night at 2am, and spent from then until my wife drove me to the doc to get more, sitting on the couch in the dark with my eyes closed in extreme pain and tears flooding down my face.

On the bright side, after 24 hours it really wasn't bad at all. So light at the end of the tunnel and all. :smokin:

I had a chunk of metal get stuck to my cornea. It fell into my eye, was not flung from a grinder kind of thing. Doctor had to numb the eye and remove it with a burr wheel. Very strange experience, you see it as it is happening. Recovery was very quick, was pain free the next day

Wow man, sounds horrible, quick healing to you!

Have fun tomorrow, extra bonus points for a parrot on your shoulder during that meeting!

I swear... battery instead of air powered, but almost the same sound. The tech said “you’ll probably feel a vibration in your eye....” watching the tool come towards the eye and “seeing” it move across the field of very blurry vision... things nightmares are made of.

go back on Tuesday to have contact removed and checkup... and to schedule the other eye.:homer:

My dog punctured my eye with his claw just to the side of my pupil that was painful. I don't wear contacts or seeing glasses so the medicated contact I had to wear drove me nuts, good luck with the healing.
