Trying to help some friends after lightning fried a computer.

All I've got is the M.2 SSD, stuck it in a USB-C enclosure, I've got full access to their Windows user accounts. Issue is, I can see all of icons and file names but all of the Pictures, Documents, Desktop, etc. are in a OneDrive folder, and 90% of those I can't actually open, they have a little gray X on the icon. What I assume is I'm only seeing the metadata of the file that was on their computer and the actual file is hopefully still on OneDrive?

Log into onedrive from another pc or try and boot from the external enclosure if it will let you or put the m.2 drive into a good pc and boot into windows

I don't have their credentials, I've asked them to log in on another PC and check. I logged into my OneDrive on the off chance that having the metadata would give me access, but of course it didn't.

I haven't tried booting from their M.2, but without their credentials and being at new hardware ID and IP, I doubt it'll default give me access. If they can't get anything from just logging in to OneDrive on a new device, I'll ask them to share their credentials and try booting from their M.2.
