See the Trailer Park for job details. It's the most gravy job ever if you can teach online and know Creo well. Bonus if you are well versed in Windchill.

I just took a job in OKC. Y'all let me know if you are local.
It's a big move for me. I start on September 30th.

Did you have a thread at the old place about a bear that broke into your cabin ? :goofball:

Not that I’m interested at all but, teaching on line classes, is it like a zoom meeting type of classes or? Just curious how it’s done.

Welcome! I think you’ll like it here overall. I’m in Piedmont, and like it. A couple logistical things to mention, though. The area is growing like crazy. OKC traffic typically flows pretty well, but I’ve realized the city is growing my direction more than I’d like. But the only time I regret living this direction from town is travel weekends. We find ourselves going east toward Arkansas very regularly. So those weekends, I really wish we were in Choctaw or Shawnee, so we could shave 50 minutes off every Arkansas trip. Very rarely do we leave for the weekend and travel NW (the direction we are from town).

On the plus side, that’s kept me from buying a boat. If we were in Choctaw, I’d be close enough to Tenkiller lake that we’d probably have one, and then I’d have that additional project list in my life.

When looking at places, I’d highly focus on the distance from the highway. They tend to flow pretty well around here. Half my commute to downtown is just getting to the highway. So, in the 13 years I’ve been here, I’m just watching neighborhoods pop up on all the surface streets between my house and the highway, watching my commute get longer and longer. Likely would’ve been smarter to bite the bullet up front with living 3 miles off the highway or something, and having a longer highway commute.

Stop Signs Every Mile.....

Every.
Fucking.
Mile.

It wasn't that bad when I moved here in 2011/12....but lots of people have moved into the area since then. To put it in persective, I used to see 2-4 cars in the first 5 miles of my commute (to the first stop light), and only have 2 stop signs.

Now I see 2-4 cars in the first mile, and they've added 2 stop signs in the first 5 miles. And the chunk of woods behind me was finished out. And the chunk of woods across the road from my "neighborhood" was just sold. I'll be moving in the next 5-6 years, Lord willing and the creek don't rise. My little town of ~3K people is too busy for me now:mad3:

Have you already moved or going to move really soon? Would be cool to do a meet up. no homo:flipoff2:

We moved from Yukon to Choctaw almost 2 years ago. Everything is a little more country out here than the west side of town. I believe rugger's job will be over near the Hobby Lobby complex, so he'd probably be better off looking in South Mustang, Tuttle, or even Blanchard.

We specifically chose our location because it is only 3 miles from the new Kickapoo turnpike.

Yes, LOTS of stop signs on the connector streets. It's the same out here, but I'm less than a mile from 23rd/Hwy 62, so it's not a huge deal.

Enjoy the tornados. :flipoff2:

Freaking outstanding location. Wanna subdivide your plot??

Wow didn’t realize so many people live in or near OKC. I haven’t been back to Tulsa since 2011 never even considered a return in that direction honestly. I remember going to tenkiller skitook ft Gibson Mazie landing and other lakes as a kid

There are a few of us who are going to the Ultra 4 nationals at Cross Bar in a few weeks.
I've got my RV spot reserved. Debating if I'm going to use it. We planned a bunch of shit for October.
