Anybody built one?
Just saw a 450qt Grizzly Cooler being used as one and I've seen people using chest freezers.

Haven't built one, buy I have lots of ideas in my head. I'll be putting it on the porch of the sauna house. I only need a chiller for 4 months a year, so I'm probably going to do a stock tank, surrounded by insulation instead of doing a chiller, and add ice as necessary. I'm mostly considering a filtration system.

I have chest freezers so I will probably just freeze blocks of ice and add before I get into a stock tank of sorts. The epdm coating is intriguing and I have put some thought into that as well.

Use the bed of your ford truck with a harbor freight tarp. Nobody ever got a ticket for parking their ice bath on the side of the road.

I was wondering how to get a good coating on the walls but I think you pour the bottom in first paint a few inches up the side wall then roll it on each side and repeat. Should get really good coat when it's flat like that.

Edit: I mean literally put the cooler on its side, end etc. might take a few days to get it done but you should be able to get a solid coat that way.
Thinking about it now I wonder if you need to leave sections of the walls un-coated for heat transfer?

Yes, you can seal the inside of a deep freeze or I just built a steel liner that fits right inside so I don’t have to worry about leaks. The temperature controller is like $45 and you can put whatever sanitization or filtration system you want in, I use an aquarium filter with UV light
