Who's used what and how did it go?

I'm currently browsing around for a desktop model, but don't mind needing to set up a dedicated table. I'll be looking over Snapmaker once again, though I do prefer the idea of having dedicated machines.

Plenty of SketchUp and Fusion 360 under my belt to design whatever I want. Seems like most machines of various types are compatible with Autodesk. Don't mind if I have to dig into another program.

They're going to run g-code so it's just a matter of making your CAM program has a post for the control.

I have a 4x4 Multicam router. I don't use it a lot, but it has been trouble free. I use MasterCam for programming.

Stepcraft??

Lookin' to stay desktop-ish. In that size, anyway.

I haven't felt any need for laser etching or cutting. Router carving is big. 3D printing is a major plus on occasion. Swappable heads is rather enticing.

I see the Snapmaker Artisan has a 0.2mm tolerance (0.0078"), which is to be expected on something that small.
