Cheap gun safes how much weight can they hold

Got a Sports Afield (Menards) 36 gun safe. I am out of room for 50 BMG ammo and am wanting to stack 5-52 lb cans of 50 on top of the safe. How much weight can it hold on top?

I've got cheap shelving that is rated for 400 lbs. You will be fine....

Structualy shaped med gauge steel, id bet you could put 1000lbs on it before you see any issues.

i'd put a piece of plywood with carpet or rubber under it so you can distribute the load and don't point-load the top.

Wife got tired of her shoe rack being used and I had another 900 rounds stacked on top of the safe that she didn't like towering over her so she found some trays for the cans that are stackable.
