It's a Motorola G6, Android, about 3 years old. Wife and I were just driving home listening to Spotify and bam! It just stopped working. It was lit up and showed Spotify, I had it plugged into the charger in the truck. Got home, unplugged it, walked into the house and it won't do anything! Won't light up or do anything.
Any tips or tricks to get it to light off? It had about 40% battery life.
I hate the thought of losing all my contacts.
Thanks

Contacts should back up automatically through your Google account on the phone and depending on who the provider is, possibly them as well.

My I pod does this sometimes. I leave it plugged in to the charger and it comes back to life. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, sometimes it takes overnight.

If you hold the power button while holding the up volume button simultaneously you can boot it into safe mode. There is also a way to do a virtual battery pull on it, should be a youtube video out there yo show you.

A minute or two in the microwave will reset the battery's charging circuitry.

There must be an error on that.

Makes no sense at all.

If it charges fully on 700 watts for just 60 seconds why would it need 70 seconds at 800 watts?

I'm not a phone surgeon but I'm pretty sure I would not fall for that.

I did find my contacts on Google so I'm good there. I guess it's just dead, headed to the Verizon store in the AM to buy a new one ...RIP Motorola G6 :(

Phone dies right before a long weekend, sounds like a good start to me

Phones are programmed to fail after a certain time so you have to buy a new one. And new updates for old phones program them to fail sooner. Prove me wrong.

I won't update my phone for that very reason. I'd rather buy a new one when I feel like it.

Or be smart and buy an unlocked phone for half the money or less and put your sim card in it.

Depends on the brand. Samsung, LG, and Apple for sure. I've got a Pixel 3XL I've had for a few years now and haven't had a problem with it yet.

I’m not a techie, but I’m writing this on a 2014 iPad continually updated. I have a 1st or 2nd generation iPhone in my car plugged into the USB with my music library. It has not had a new update available for years. It still indexes music to the car audio system and works fine. I have a really old iMac in my garage that I did a Microsoft teams video conference on today. Not trying to be an Apple kiss ass, but I’ve never had one brick on me and all have most recent updates. Hell, my gen 1 Apple TV still works. It’s arcane but operational,

Yeah fuck Google phones, they're the only one that's so bad at hiding their shitty batteries they actually got sued for it and settled. Got a nice $150 check in the mail after my nexus 6P took a dump on me, and the one my dad passed on to me after it did the same fucking thing.

Google is in everyone's shit if you're on Android. Who do you think owns the OS?

Battery in this thing lasts longer than any smart phone I've ever had. Never had a Nexus though, had several LG phones before this one but the last two were complete piles of shit.

That doesn't translate to anything except snooggle can kiss mah schweaty ballz. I don't use their apps, browsers, maps, anything on this snoogle-owned OS device.

I did a little searching last year, about a third party privacy oriented phone. At the time, the launch was set up for October 19 - but I didn't look into after that and fuck if I can remember what phone (brand name) it was. The launch stipulated that it would come out at $775 per device, that part I recall.

My S7 did the same thing. Plugged it in one night, next day..Dead, won't boot up. Lost a bunch of shit!

My iphone 7 is ~4 years old at this point. So far its given no indication of bricking itself.

if you need a phone quick pick one up on CL,letgo or marketplace then buy something you want from a place like Swappa.
https://swappa.com/buy/phones
Verizion store is gonna rape you.

I ended up buying a Galaxy A01, seems to be about the same as the Moto G6. It was the cheapest they had in stock at my local Verizon store. I have to shop for a screen protector and a case on the net now :) Life is good :)
