California SB210 Compliance

I skimmed the page, are RV’s actually affected? Maybe I missed it, but didn’t see a mention of them.

"The Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance program will roll out a statewide network of roadside emission monitors to screen for high emitting trucks, starting with the San Joaquin Valley and South Coast and expanding over time. It will also require vehicles with a GVWR greater than 14,000 pounds operating in California to perform periodic testing and submit the data to CARB. As with passenger cars and light-duty trucks, California registration of these heavier vehicles will require passing the inspection."

I talked with my smog guy a while back about being affected by this and having to smog my super c. He said it doesn’t affect rvs. All my emissions shits in place, but if he’s wrong, I’m gonna be pissed.

It looks like 13 and newer will be automatic? Or will not need to visit a inspection shop. Hopefully your guy is right though.

"Heavy-duty vehicle owners will be able to complete the required test and deliver the information remotely without having to travel to designated testing locations. For telematics users, an onboard diagnostics (OBD) inspection that draws emissions control performance data from the vehicle’s internal computer, an inspection can be completed automatically without taking the vehicle out of operation. OBD systems have been required by CARB on heavy-duty vehicles since 2013. Older heavy-duty vehicles without on-board diagnostic systems would continue the current opacity testing requirements with an added visual testing component, twice each year.

The Heavy-Duty Vehicle Inspection Program will continue to augment the new testing requirements with inspections and testing randomly carried out at border crossings, California Highway Patrol weigh stations, fleet facilities and randomly selected roadside locations."

I noticed that, mines a 2000 so i fall under the driving mine somewhere to have it done.

Screwsome is thumbing his nose at scotus ( bruen), he has carb in his pocket....
You don't think that the laws of taxation revenues won't affect this??:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
Git yer smog check here:frown::nuke:

Got me renewal in the mail for my 2000 Freightliner Sport Chassis. All it said i needed was to pay the renewal. I paid the $750, then i get a notice of incomplete registration due to CARB/SB 210 compliance.

So what do you all think about the HDT, MDT and RVs getting emission checks?

CARB passes “smog check” regulation for heavy duty trucks and buses | California Air Resources Board
“This commonsense measure will provide the pollution reductions we urgently need to achieve federal air quality standards and deliver cleaner air to impacted communities near ports, freeways, and warehouses."

As soon as you see "commonsense measure" you know it's 100% bullshit.

I know a few people with RVs that also got the notice. As it states GVWR 14,000 and up, that's operated in California
I’ll swing by tomorrow and see what he says. I just did my registration renewal and didn’t get any sort of notice.

Me too. My renewal just noted fee's due. Sent them in, 1 week later got incomplete notice in the mail. Saying i need sp210 compliance. Yet they already took my money.....

My in laws is a bus motorhome. Whatever difference that makes.

I have gotten a boll from the .gov for the third time now for something that I 'probably own' but cant prove it
but if you pay this you should be good

for the third time I mailed in 0.00 because I don't own it

OP, you don't have a buddy in a different state that can help you out ?

I do have a friend in a different state. However read the fine print, says all trucks operated in California need to go through this. That means even truckers from out of state that is coming into California to drop a load still need to conform to this new law.

No, that's just a normal smog. Unless its GVWR is more than 14,000?

No

I quit reading at 'regulation' and that is all I needed to know

best of luck to you, I hope you can find the loop hole to get out of it

All the more reason for out of state truckers to not even entertain delivering to commiefornia.

Who's gonna register Irate Motor Pool LLC in Montana?

Wouldn't be hard for a lawyer to whip up some paperwork to the tune of "you only own the shit you put in and you're responsible for insuring your own shit". Add $5/yr to the reg and it would cover the operating costs.

I'd love to see this. I know of a few truckers that have YT channels that moved out of California because of this bullshit and others that were already in other states that no longer take loads to California.
