What's new

Build Log: 2006 Audi A4 Avant Stealth 24" sub build.

Who the fuck puts blankets around stuff in the cargo compartment of a car :lmao: :flipoff2:

At the end of that video, you need a 5-10 sec bump demo though :smokin:

Want to know how much the fucking carpet I used in the back costs?

If you can cover the floor before throwing a dirty table, EZ-Up, lawn chairs, tuning gear, and all the other shit in…wouldn’t you?

Welp...thermal city.

The 200.4 that we're using to power the sub likes to thermal (it is Class AB after all) with the floor down...and I can't have the floor up with the hatch closed.
Time for an overly complicated cooling solution.

The simple thing to do would be vent the subwoofer section and the amp section together. :homer:

I've always used Middle Atlantic rack fans, how are those AC Infinity units?

Well, the current discussion is for me to take the car to the Mountaineer Casino and "resort" for the show that will be held there July 23rd and 24th. So if any of you are in the area and want to check it out...

Also, here's a video from a basshead YouTuber that got a demo/shot video at a show a while back. He had to edit out all of the SQ stuff due to copyright. The SPL demo flooded the mic.

I saw chocolate chip trip on the stereo at the end of the video. I can only imagine how that sounds in there:smokin:

So there was a small car audio meet near me this weekend and I got to see/hear this car in person.

Wow. Thanks for making my junk sound and look like, well, junk :shaking:

The install is beautiful. Just glancing inside the car when all the panels are in place you would never imagine this thing has such an amazing system installed.

Once you close the doors you don't hear anything from the outside world. When standing outside the car during a demo, you only hear some bump from the sub even though you know it is cranked way up inside. The biggest giveaway shit is going wild inside is the rear wiper bouncing around :lmao:

Nick ran through some tracks I'm assuming he demos for most people. He starts off with just the 6.5's and 3's playing and it sounds amazing. It already feels like it has more bottom end than my truck with a slim 10" sub under the seat

Then he switches to all speakers to include the 24. O M G. You can feel that sub down in your soul. And it doesn't sound like it is even trying. He was playing one track that dips down to like 8 hz and it just chugs down there womp womp womp shaking the entire car.

Everything else sounded like shit after that :flipoff2: (not really, I listened to a few other cars and they all sounded great)

I almost bought a set of the 6.5's since he was offering cash deals on them and the 3's, but then he was showing off the prototype 8" he has been working on. I can fit the 8's in my doors so I may snag a set of those when they become available.

The crazy thing about that car is that I used stock locations and hid everything.

All of the other cars there had speakers in the pillars and such. Not that one.

It's very different from the rest of the cars you saw.

Still frustrated that I couldn't go. Guess it's time to get a monster alternator. :homer:

The Scion was getting even for calling it The Turd :flipoff2:

Yea I have my mids/tweets on the pillars as well. While it works, it definitely isn't subtle at all. I have some pillars/sails I've been working on to replace these cheap bolt on pods but I never seem to have time to finish them.

It still bugs me that I didn’t get to make that trip. Was going to tune for a few guys. 😕

Nick and I plan on being in Fayetteville, NC this Saturday at the Fayetteville Motorsport Park drag strip.

He's taking the Audi, I'm taking the orange toaster.

4480 Doc Bennett Rd
Fayetteville, NC 28306

The show is a fundraiser for Off-Road Outreach NC. They are local and do a great deal of work with veterans locally in Fayetteville NC.

JacobViral posted a video from back in the spring at Seaport Showdown. No floor in the car and the driver's side cargo panel wasn't done, but I took the car anyway.

Blew a lot of minds that day.

Anyway, here's Jacob's video. Headphones work best. All of the editing is due to YouTube copyright BS.

Kinda off topic but still in your area of expertise.

Don't suppose you can do up a sound-proofing tutorial for those of us who want our 4x4's to be quieter on the highway?

I headed out from Ky to VA for a mental break. Hung out with the audio guys.

Nick gave a demo to a couple of guys and I filmed it.

Both windows down. No Time To Die 11-21Hz

Driver window down. Same 11-21Hz track.

Nick also sat in the back seat and shot video. ICP’s Haunted Bumps 19-26Hz.

So guess what just came across my Instagram feed randomly. As soon as I saw the NC plate I already knew. 😂

That thing is all over instagram and TikTok. People take the videos and use them for content their shit.
