Getting ready to redo my truggy to add a 3rd seat for the kiddo. Are the EMPI race Trim seats still the go to budget setup? Any vendors on here that carry them I can support?

Want the suspension seats. Going to use a Full size adult seat and mount her car seat to it.

How tall are you?

I'm 5'11" with a shortish inseam (tall torso) and bought regular corbeaus. Bought the heaters and installed them in my 4runner. I drive it for like a week before pulling it back out and selling them. Not only did high bolsters suck in a regular truck without a removable wheel, but the head rest was barely above my shoulders.

Just something to think about.

Also, why cheap out on the one thing that youre using 100% of the time you're in the truck?

This right here, no matter what brand you get they are all made for trolls. I got the MasterCraps regular everything and sat in them one time and thought who are these made for. The headrest punches you in the back of the neck like a Chuck Norris death blow. I took whatever loss was needed to sell them since MasterCrap said I was SOL, they said I should of known better than to order the standard being 6-2. Well since I was wrong once I was not going to be wrong again so I ordered PRP the next go around and said these are my dimension and I need a seat that fits. PRP said I needed a High Back Comp +4 tall and normal width. Not sure what that means currently but the middle of the head rest hits the back of my head or helmet like it is suppose to.

The other option is to get seats with head rests, then add the little pads to your cage/cab. Bonus for that is they can be adjusted.

My problem is that every time I look at prp seats I want to add just about every extra

I didn't know how valuable seat heaters were until I rode the Hammers in a heated seat.
The heat is contained between you and the seat so it doesn't blow out like hot air when you are at speed.
The heat also warms up the back muscles and joints so riding on the bumps stops with 1" of up travel through the woops doesn't hurt so bad.
That being said I need to pull the covers off of my seats and add in heaters. Does anyone have a lead on aftermarket seat heaters.
Watts?
Size?
Controls?
Reliability?

x2. I thought MasterCraps sizing was respectable. I am 6' but have a short torso and the headrest still hits me in the middle of the neck!! Going to sell at a loss and get something better when my rig is close to being built.

I havent used these...but the price seems right if they are decent.

JEGS 702120: Off Road Seat Black Vinyl - JEGS High Performance

Thats really cheap considering they come with sliders.

I agree. I'll never do aftermarket seats without them.

As far as brand, I've read good things about the cheap ones on Amazon.

Or you can oder prp's version.

5-10

I'm looking at the Corbeau JP seats not. The fat boy size actually has lower bolsters and is 2.5" taller.

Ordered a Corbeau Baja JP wide. I'll see how my fat ass fits it. I do like the more upright position of it.

I have the PRP +4's. Also 6'2". They are almost too tall. Thinking +2's would have been better.

Like I said total hieght isn't everything. I know people who are taller than me and sit the same height in the seat or even lower.

Are you German? Germans are all legs :flipoff2:

I'd find one to sit in before ordering.

Or at least sit on the floor and measure floor to head.

I measured barefoot in the kitchen and I'm like 5'10" or a hair less. That seat was like 6" too short, not even close. I'm sure we're all padding these hieght numbers really though :flipoff2:

It's on the way. I only ordered one to see the fit. It's gonna be installed in the rear for the kid. Of if fits me well I'll order two more for the front. If not I'll drop the coin on $$$ seats.... or more likely keep.rockimg my factory 4 runner seats. Lol

34" inseam, what you got stumpy?

I've only been fitted once, for my wedding and that was 11 years ago, so about 10.5 years gone from memory.

Real 32" inseam jeans are a hair long. So like I said, tall torso. :flipoff2:

Edit: I'm also super strong and my dad has a HUGE shotgun! :flipoff2::flipoff2:

I had the EMPI Racetrim seats in my truck. They were a little short for me at 6'. I replaced them with PRP Comp Elites, so much better. I will never buy cheap seats again.

+1 whatever on paying for good seats.. I run PRP XC wides in the RZR and one of the best upgrades I ever did.. Back doesn't hurt at the end of the day. I have no idea how some of my friends can ride 10+ hours in the stock seats..

I am 6', 32" inseam and a big boy at 280#. (wife is a really good cook:flipoff2:)

Depends on the model of PRP too. Some start really short, others are decent to begin with. Then they add 2” or 4” from that depending on selected option.

About to order these JEGS seats. Anyone have them? Seems like they are priced well and come with sliders.

i did the PRP daily drive +2" and absolutely love them. i got mine a few years back and were still 400 bucks. not sure what they are now but they still are the bees knees to ride in all day. always comfy and my head is below the top of the seat. thats my kid and he is just shy of 6 foot.

My PRP Daily drivers weren't that expensive when I ordered through some vendor on Pirate back in the day.

Ordered some Daily Driver low backs this week, about $1050 shipped and I didn't get anything extra/fancy, they're cheaper than some seats but they're not really the budget option anymore.
