Guess no good dead goes unpunished. I removed the stuck screw in a 1911 slide for a coworker and now I get some bad luck. Went shooting with some coworkers to let them try out some suppressors and send off a old coworker. The DPMS G2 AR10 was functioning really well with the 30 Cal suppressor during most of the day. Shortly after removing the suppressor for a few more round the trigger would no longer function. The trigger would function fine if I removed the select fire switch but otherwise no amount of cleaning would help.

Red circle is the area that wouldnt disengage. Removing trigger assembly a few times for cleaning and see if I could see something bad.

Accidentally had it dry fire once but that solved the question. The hammer had a few cracks and was flexing which didnt allow for the hammer to release.

Shiny area is where hammer broke when it dropped, dark area has been flexing for abit. Ill try to get a better picture later on. Replaced with a Geissele 2 Stage Enhanced Trigger.

Never seen that before.

Well, you ended up with probably the best triggers out there....................just took a strange way of doing it.:flipoff2:

Prolly improper metallurgical processing at the trigger factory. Was going to malfunction regardless of amount of dry-firing. I have the Rock River version, one of my favorite triggers.

Yep. It's just money. The dpms trigger was really nice till it broke. The rifle sat in my safe for a few years after I got it before I notice the original barrel had issues with suppressed fire and by then it was to late to call up the production manager to see about exchanging the upper. Instead I got a new upper from a buddy for free. Sooner or later I will just buy to Odin works adjustable gas blocks to install on both.

Figure It's a MIM process based off the parting line in the part. Dry firing should never cause the breaking. I normally try avoid try firing the AR since a finger normally ends up being hit some how.

Is the G2 still dead with the Remington bankruptcy? I know palmetto bought dpms and they had a knockoff g2 for a short while, but nothing since.

not really sure, I stopped following stuff close after I got out of the firearms industry. 50% off guns was nice but didnt make up for the shitty pay.
