Had a guy offer me 50k per load to bring coke from Miami to Atlanta. Back in the mid 80s. That was a lot of money then, so I considered it. Then he told me that when he was in prison, he ran so much they called it the MCabe (his name) Mile. He said, "just like in Midnight Express".

That ended my muling consideration.

I would agree with you if "the kid" had just shut the fuck up and dribbled the ball and got a paycheck. She actually chose to make political statements from her platform. This is why celebrities, athletes, and entertainers political opinions (at least should) mean fuckall. They don't have the foggiest understanding of what they fucking say. I do feel like she will have a better understanding after her time in the goulag not hearing the Star Spangled Banner. She may have a better appreciation of her rights and freedoms in the country and ideals that song represents and decide it's not such a repressive little diddy. Some lessons in life are learned the hard way. She made stupid comments in the past and people gave her an ear full of negative feedback. Now she's learning first hand that maybe those people she gave the proverbial if not literal finger to had a point. If you can't appreciate there might be some gloating over it, I don't know what to tell you.

There is a show called "Locked Up Abroad". Havn't seen famous people on it. Makes me be damn sure I WILL follow the rules of that country.

When I first heard this Griner story, I asked my brother about midnight express. He was 14 when the movie came out, I happened to be in town and took him to his first R rated movie.

Really made me concerned about getting in trouble in another Country.

Sounds like military prison. It's sole purpose is punishment and deterrence plain and simple, I had a few mates do 1-2week stints, deffo not a fun time :laughing:. No shits given about reformation or any of that cuddly feely shit.

Seemed a tell that the girl from the russian punk rock band said it sucked. I can't imagine what it will seem like to a professional basketball player that had all the perks of people wanting their skills since 15. I imagine the ladies of pussy riot grew up in a much harsher environment.
