Black Friday Sales 2023

Two 4-1/2" 6 amp Porter Cable angle grinders for $29.99. I order two sets and got free shipping.

They are low powered, but it will be nice to have 4 more angle grinders floating around.

I ordered two 2 packs. I received one 2 pack. It was shipped in the retail box. Still waiting on a reply from Tractor Supply.

I didn't think those had 220. I passed on it for that reason and ended up with the (heavy) 9500

Is there a coupon out on that? How'd you get the 850 price?
I had a 25% off coupon. It was a bit over 850 with tax and stuff.

I didn’t notice it wasn’t 220 though. I wanted that style plug to make it easy to backfeed a panel and run a welder. Now I’m not sure I want to keep it. Thanks for the heads up.

Keep your eyes open for the 9500. I picked mine up for $1800, which was 600 off for black friday.

The number of gen sets between 5k and 10k is pretty limited. After shopping around, it was the best price I could find (on sale).

I saw that. My biggest draw back is the weight. I have zero chance of loading it without a tractor.

Can confirm the Predator 5000 watt genny doesn't have 220v. Bought mine the week they came out. Used a 25% off coupon that the gentleman on here would share when he would get them. Hell of a genny for $750 :smokin:

It can't be much more than the 5k. I would say an engine hoist.

Mine may or may not have had a rapid exit from the truck after the jack slipped :homer:

Still runs fine.

The 9500 is a huge fuckin' heffer compared to the 5k. The 9500 is close to 300lbs and just physically too large to heave up and move around by yourself. No way a single person is doing anything but wheeling it around by themselves (without using a cherry picker or some shit).

It would be a fucking strain to put the 5k on the tailgate of a truck, especially if it had a full tank. The 5k doesn't weigh THAT much more than my old 3500, but it's just slightly bigger (taller and wider) and that little bit of extra weight is very noticeable.

I put mine on then deck of an old big wheel push mower which makes it easy enough to move around on concrete or decent ground. Now its not a 9k but still too damn heavy to lug around.

I need to put a couple pivot wheels on the front.

Here’s where I am. Even the 9k is borderline heavy to load with 2 people (the second person is my dad or my fiancé, in which neither I would prefer getting hurt).

I do have a tractor I Can load with, it’s just the whole fact of getting a tractor out just to load it.

And rolling around on gravel I can imagine isn’t fun. The cost difference is pretty big too. But the lack of 220V really makes me not like the 5k.

can you get a parallel kit for the 5k to get 220v from two of them or does that not work that way?

I haven't looked that far into them. I may just keep the unit and use it and if I need more, I will get a different one. I really want a welding rig/generator. I think that would be the best to take out in the field anyway.

start watching FBMP and CL for Miller/Lincoln welder generators turning up when people can't pay rent or property taxes?

Buddy has a 400A Miller he got for a song. I wanna say $2500 or something? I know it's a diesel unit and is enough to backfeed his entire house if he needs to. :smokin:

When he built his house the GC used it for power since the power company hadn't gotten a meter set yet.

They don't work that way. They double the wattage, not the voltage.

I just scored a "open box" Predator 3500 quite generator for $450. I'm running it through the works to make sure it's working good before my 5 day return period is over.
It has a 120v 30 amp twist lock plug. I plan on using a step up transformer to get 240v to run my furnace fan and outdoor wood stove if the power goes out during the winter.

Heard they suck for traction. I only received 2 of the 5 I ordered, so I just made them trail spares for 2 different rides.
