I'm getting ready to either build or buy a fuel tank. I've used the typical float style senders for years with mixed results. Tried Autometer ones and cheap ones. Kind of hit and miss. Most of them worked, just not as good as I would have liked them too.

In your experience, what type of sender is the most reliable? I have been looking at the vertical type with the float that goes up and down. Seems like they would work better. They look somewhat marine in design.

What is your experience? I'm getting too old to put up with marginal stuff anymore, I want it to work.

I am going to go with the vertical type. The float method works for millions of cars, but seems like the aftermarket versions are all a little lacking. Thank you for the link, I know they make pretty good stuff.
