I just bought two batteries from NAPA. On the side of the battery they have a round sticker with a date. One battery has a 5/24. The other battery has 6/24. I always thought the sticker was manufactured date. Im really happy that I got one manufactured next month.

Alot of things with a warrantee are pre dated. The pressure tanks that we sell are the same way.

I've gotten a few batteries that were a full month ahead, like buy now and has a July sticker.

I always write on them when I bought them. Go through so many batteries i can't remember if they are near new or "i swear i just bought these" and it's been 5 years.

Places stopped taking batteries too. Used to get $10, now they won't even take them unless buying new ones.
Found several in the brush on my land... one found with bush hog. Ended up trashing them.

the last truck I purchased from the lot was from the future
I had it July of 2000, the title said 2001:grinpimp:

Be careful with napa batteries.

When I bought some recently the guy said to make sure I keep my receipt because they won't engrave a date code in the battery anymore. :homer:

As if I am gonna keep a receipt for more than 24 hours :lmao:

I just got one from them with a 4-year warranty.
Receipt is in my warranty folder. With the vehicle, date, and expiration written on it. And a xerox of the receipt, in case it fades out.
I paid for a warranty, I'm getting a damn warranty!

IIRC that sticker is a shelf date, end of the month on the sticker, they get pulled and recharged. We have gotten a few 'new' batteries crom the local napa for the core charge because they aged out on shelf dates/recharge cycles
