What are the Bands you thought you liked, but either out grew or realized they just suck?

OR

The bands you're suppose to like but hate.

I am suppose to like Stevie Ray Vaughn. I'm from Texas, I like most genres of music, but I hate Stevie Ray Vaughn. I kinda think most people like him just to try to appear cool, and won't admit, he's just not pleasant to listen to.

I was on a big SRV kick for awhile. Over it long ago, if I hear him now I'd probably be pretty "meh".

Creed. Shinedown. Staind. If I hear any of these now I literally turn red because I feel embarrassed for myself.

Any grunge. I was huge into it back in the day, don't care to hear Black Hole Sun for even one second.

Doubly so for Nirvana, can't stand it. I don't wanna hear no Mudhoney nor any of that.

Only exception is Screaming Trees, and only 3 songs.

They got a couple of big beefy boys playing guitar, it's pretty damn good. Those are the fattest heroin addicts in Seattle

I'm sorry, but both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones absolutely suck. They both have a handful of good songs and the rest of their massive catalogs are shit. I feel a lot of bands could produce a few good songs if they had the opportunity to produce thousands.

I can't listen to any of the extreme stuff I used to jam all the time. My house with two boys and a wife sounds mostly like a death metal album on loop. I've mellowed out over the years.

The garbage I used to listen to was stuff like Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, World Burns to Death, Damage Deposit, Cut the Shit, Caustic Christ, etcetera. It all sounds like absolute shit to me now.

That stuff was NEVER good.

Bands I think suck, that most people don't:

Rush
Van Halen
Green Day
Aerosmith
90% of the 80's hair bands

I'll think of more as the day goes on.....

X2 on Rush (the singers voice kills it for me) and any of the hair bands on the 80's

Disturbed is fucking terrible. I went to a disturbed show to see Stone Sour. I walked out after the first disturbed song.

Mudvayne is a close second.

I'll second Pearl Jam.

Limp Bizkit. I thought I liked them when I was 19. Saw them in concert and it was fun. When I hear that shit now (that I'm 40) I can't even find what was appealing to me about it.

I really do like SRV. IMO his guitar work is superb. Bands lots of people like that I hate are Deftones, The Police, & System of a Down.

Hank William Jr.

I like hank williams and I like hank 3 but Jr sucks and totally sold out / road on his name.

I still like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers but it's time we all admit that most of their songs are just rhyming nonsense with state names.

There was that band from South America, chick singer with black hair, Filipina maybe, but I didn't really get a chance to decide if I liked it or not before that pussy from Ramona HGTD'd the thread.

I saw him live at a festival back in Fall of '16, he literally did not sing a complete song the entire time he was on stage. It was an hour and a half of redneck platitudes to get the drunk rednecks in the crowd to cheer, reminiscing about the "good ole days," telling stories about growing up around famous musicians, and Trump campaign rally, with just the chorus of about 7-8 of his more popular songs peppered throughout. It was terrible.

I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone thinks Dave Matthews Band is good?

I also don't like U2.

Hooty should have stayed with the Blowfish.

I went through a rap phase in late high school/early college, I haven't kept up with modern "rap," but Amigos or Migos, WTF?

I hate steel drums, and Reggae in general, Sublime gets a pass, though they're Reggae-lite.

I also hate saxophone solos, keep the screeching to a minimum.

.

It's funny, I saw him about the same time playing a Casino in Minnesota, and it was a great show. I had a great time.

Indians probably pay better than Little Rock's now defunct, previously annual, spring time, "Riverfest."
