Lets hear em.
For me it was cigarettes, weed and biting my nails.
I smoked a pack a day for around 15 years and one day in 1991 I quit cold turkey
Weed i smoked for about the same amount of time and quit cold turkey in June 1994
But the biggest one was biting my nails. I chewed my nails since I had teeth. Then one day about 7-8 months ago I just stopped. I’m 61 years old so that says a lot.

What about you guys? What bad habits have y’all managed to give up?

I quit weed for a couple months this year then started right back up. Looking to at least get down to weekends only.

Beer after work.

Technically still at work, but no longer doing work. Full sized fridge stocked full of beer and usually an owner and couple PM’s would come upstairs to our office next to the fridge and want a cold one or several. Some days it would be 2-3PM and we wouldn’t leave until 6PM. I always only had a max of 2 because of the drive. I’m surprised that no one had gotten a OUI while I worked there.

Asthma and altitude forced me to quit cigarettes when I moved here five years ago. I did have a dream last night that I was able to smoke.

I had a four Diet Cokes a day habit when I quit in 1996.
That reminds me, I used to drink 2-3 Pepsi’ a day then also quit cold turkey in July 2013.

Cigarettes. NYC taxes took care of that. After that. Black and Milds. The Later NYC Cigar tax took care of that. A half pack of smokes a day or 2 packs of blacks. Feel a lot better. $

Spoiling my wife.:shaking:

Alcohol and cigs, more or less anyway.

Two packs a day from 16 til I quit cold turkey without a problem around 23 or 24. Still smoke when I drink but it's maybe a pack a year. Still enjoy it, but it's like smoking a cigar for me.

Alcohol I just grew out of. Still have the occasional cocktail or beer, but nothing habitual anymore. Hangovers got to be too much, too easy to happen, and too unpredictable. Used to be a handle and a 24 pack over a weekend plus 6-12 a night during the week in my early 20s. Now I buy a 12 pack and it sits in the fridge for a month or two.

Dipped Cope for 20 years. Nasty habit.
went to the dentist at 25 and he said, 'look at your gums.. the bottom is damn near eaten away, if you want dentures at 40, keep dippin'" so, I quit.

My brother, a hard drinker and always a dip in, has had to move locations for dipping because of gum problems... two years ago, he had to have all his teeth pulled and implants... it took a year for his mouth to recover and accept the implants... that is a year of being a fucking jackolantern! humiliating... and all the other health problems.

Glad I quit when I did. Every time I have a bottle of beer I miss it.

Had to quit skoal long cut wintergreen a few times. It's been over 30 years now and it still smells so good when someone opens a can of it around me.

If I don’t keep my nails trimmed then I will bite them. That’s the biggest factor I’ve found for me.

Cigarettes and Chew for 10 years and cold turky been off for 14 years
Did weed for 8 years every day and been off 14 years
Been sober 10 months now. Before that I might have drank 3-4 times a month so not that impressive.
I know this is gross but until I was 35 I would brush my teeth maybe twice a month and hit the dentisit every 5 years. Only one cavity ever. But went in at 35 and they insissted on a under the gum clean and not only did it cost way to much it hurt like a bitch. Now I brush 2-3 times a day and am almost OCD in feeling anything on my teeth. Cary a floss pick with me everywhere. Dentist every 6 months. And yes still have only had one cavity :flipoff2:

Cigarettes, Cigars, smokeless tobacco off and on from middle school (92ish) until adulthood, gave it all up a little over 10 years ago after a close friends wife had lung cancer (treatable) and a friend a few years older than I am died from it. Will have a zyn nicotine pouch every now and then if I'm having a beer in the garage just to kill the urge... but otherwise tobacco free now.

Toxic Family Members

it sucks because you are always the perceived asshole for making the decision not to play the game anymore
I almost said not speaking with my mother anymore. BEST and healthiest thing I've ever done.

Mother, sister, stepmother, stepbrother and other family never wanted to see me happy.

Cope from the age of 15 to 52, the day I went into hospital for kidneys is the day I stopped Oct 21st 2017.

I haven't talked to my Mother in 13 years
from what I understand there is one of us four kids that hasn't cut her out

I also cut out the rest of your list because of the same reasons. I have one brother that I talk to and maybe see him once a year. Even then I have to push the visit. I attempt and if you doesn't have the time, then I just drop it knowing that I tried.

It is so reliving getting rid of that dead weight in your life

The only one I've been able to give up was smokes, pack a day for a year or two early 20's, then occasionally and every weekend until my 30's. Eventually completely gave it up about and haven't had one in a long enough time they don't smell good anymore. :flipoff2:

Quit smoking, fast food and caffeine cold turkey in 2006. I still don't smoke but I will have fast food once in awhile in a hurry and caffeine is about the same. Went from probably a 12 pack of mt dew back then to 1-3 energy drinks a week now.

I used to live in a bottle back then too. These days I might get a buzz a couple times a year and get properly fucked up every couple of years or so.

I don't smoke and have never done any drugs. I rarely drink. Like 1 mixed drinks a month.

But I have a terrible sweet tooth and drink way to much mtn dew and eat way to much candy.

I'll quit when I'm dead.
