COCHISE COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are searching for a southern Arizona man connected to a threat to kill former President Donald Trump on the same day that Trump will be at the Arizona border.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syrvud from Benson is wanted on several outstanding warrants. The sheriff’s office is also searching for Syrvud in connection to recent threats made to kill the Republican presidential candidate.
Trump will be in Cochise County on Thursday. He will visit the same stretch of the U.S.-Mexico border in Sierra Vista that his vice presidential running mate, Senator JD Vance, toured three weeks ago.
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office said 66-year-old Ronald Lee Syrvud from Benson is wanted on several outstanding warrants and in connection to recent threats made to kill the Republican presidential candidate.
Syrvud has warrants out of Wisconsin for DUI and failure to appear for DUI and out of Graham County, Ariz., for hit and run and felony failure to register as a sex offender. The sheriff’s office also said he failed to register as a sex offender in Coconino County.
Syrvud is described as a 6-foot white male with white hair and green eyes.
