Looking on the interwebs it says most 2006 front axles say 229 or 248 (mm) in the bottom right of this sticker.
What does that make this at 256mm?
2006 F-250 4x4, single cab long box, 6.0
Rear BOM tag included.
Super 60 and 10.5 3.73 gears?

To add a little more info, the Dana 50 (229mm ring gear) was phased out in '01-'02, and all '03+ axles are Dana 60s.

It seems that recently people and companies have started referring to the '05+ Superduty Dana 60s as "Super 60s," but to me the Super 60 (AKA "Fat boy" 60) is the wider '05+ F450/550 Dana 60 with the 4" OD 1/2" wall tubes, 1550 shafts, and bigger ball joints and knuckles. From what I've seen and read, many if not all '05+ Dana 60s have the 10" ring gear (256mm) as opposed to the old 9.75" ring gear (248mm). The Newer 10" ring gear will swap directly into other Dana 60s, much like the new 1550 axle shafts will swap directly into the '05+ F250/350 Dana 60s.

some old housings will need grinding to fit the 10" ring gear

Good to know, I looked into it a while ago for a buddy's '89 Kingpin axle, but he didn't end up going with the 10" gears so I don't have first hand experience.

Thank you both!
This truck is going up for auction to employees. Has a Fisher V plow and flatbed. Hoping I can get it for cheap enough that selling the plow, power train, and flatbed leaves me with the axles plus some $$. They'll go nicely under my 96 Bronco.

I'm not poo pooing parting out trucks, I've done well doing it myself, but if you're after a pair of axles, at least know that you can usually find them for 750pair

And, I'd be seeking an elocker rear from a newer truck anyways
