Can I put and Aw4 behind a 3.0L with this Bell Housing?

Not a direct answer but I was reading this last night and it might be helpful

We Run V8 1uzfe to A340 out of a lexus and swap a AW4 tail-housing on the back. Pretty easy

Just cut the stock shaft down to the length of the AW4. You could run the entire aw4 but you would need to swap the bellhousing, TC, and the pump. I have just over a year on mine. I ran a 22ret to AW4 before I swapped over to 1uz. So far I DD it, snow wheel, ran Rubicon and Fordyce with zero issues. My other buddies who talked me into the swap have been running theirs for 6 plus years. v8s, front and rear steer, 39 reds etc.

Yep. With a few parts swapped you sure can. I have that bell sitting on the shelf if you are interested.

Right on. Thank you, I’m posting this for a friend but I’ll definitely let him know

Could someone give me more details please. Looking to put an aw4 behind my 1988 toyota 3.0

You are set as they come with an a340H Auto as an option. Get an A340F and some other donor parts and get to it.
No conversion parts necessary.. Add an AA50-5710 adapter and run an atlas or a d300 for desired driver/passenger drop.

Here is a thread from the old site regarding all of the variants and parts interchangeability.

I run a 4.3 3UZ with a 2wd a340. Swapped the AW4 extension housing and output shaft.

A340 and aw4 run a different style 23 spline output for each of them fyi.

yep that's correct. I used the AA50-5710 adapter which came with a spud shaft that converts the 23spline toyota to the 23 spline jeep ( as I call it) to my atlas..
