Who do you use for Auto insurance, State Farm is screwing me around since I added 2 new trucks to the policy.

Got tired of State Farm choosing to take their auto payment out on random dates instead of on the date I had it set for. Switched to a local company, Elephant, for a while. But sold my truck and didn't buy another one for a few days and those assholes tried to charge me double for the lapse in coverage on the new one.

Been using Progressive the last 2 years or so with no complaints.

AAA. We used to have country financial, but changed to AAA at the beginning of COVID and saved like 50%.

USAA.

Was with state farm and it was OK other than what seemed like an annual increase with ZERO claims.

Have had good response from progressive when my daughter was rear ended. No questions asked, rental car, get it in and get it fixed.

I will have to double check what insurance the guy had who was looking right and turning left on his motorcycle when I watched him bounce off my tailgate. They treated me pretty good too.

Been with Geico for 5-6 years now, probably ought to shop around some but they treat me decent. The few claims I've had they've taken care of quickly and I've never had trouble getting someone on the phone if there was any issue. Some shit has dropped off my driving record since I went with them so I should probably shop around and see if I can get a better deal, paying 200 a month for 3 cars.

I've been with State Farm for 5 years. They've been fine, but I haven't actually used a policy yet.

Exactly this but I pay $200/mo for six cars. :flipoff2:

Gecko was cheap at first, $500 a year for 2 trucks. Getting increases every year, wouldn't be surprised to see a $700 bill this year. I did shop around & but nobody would beat that rate.

No tickets, no accidents nor any claims-

Geico.

Had USAA for years, until they doubled my premium for adding my (then) 17 yo daughter and her shitbox.

Now, I'm paying $200/mo for 5 cars, full coverage on one, towing package on 3, 2 teenage drivers.

Well, *I'm* not paying $200, but that's what the bill is - The teenagers each pay their share.:grinpimp:

I had Geico for like 7 years and then talked to a local friend and told me to call Progressive because he said my rate sounded high.

sure enough, I saved like $75 bucks a month for a new truck, my jeep and motorcycle. (clean record and CDL)

Fun fact, I called geico to see if there was anything I can do to save money. They said no.... until I told them I wanted to cancel my policy. Then they started to pull numbers from thin air.

long story short. I would shop around every year or two for the cheapest.
Just make sure your dollar amount coverage's are the same and you get roadside or free rental...ect, if you need it.

ICBC. I have no choice.

Some what.

My extended coverage is through Family Solutions, better policy and saved $180 over what ICBC offers. Wife's car is through BCAA, no real savings there but same idea, better coverage.

Been with them since 1994. No one even wants to try and compete with their pricing. I was literally a grandfather clause to get my own policy from them when I went off my parents after hs. So then I ended up paying both their insurance and my insurance policy and the rest of the utilities but fuck it was still cheaper than my own apartment at 19. Even to this day my insurance rates didn't change much whether I had one car or 3 under my own name still paying about 175 dollars a month. Ill take it.

full coverage on the 2019 highcountry 3500 and liability on 3 more. 807 for 6 months. i had a 60oo dollar hail claim on the 2019. geico

State Farm for the past 24 years. I pay 82 bucks for two vehicles and homeowners. My agent retired late last year and now got a new dude who seems just as cool.

I recently received an email from him saying rates are dropping. :smokin:

Try switching to another office?

I’ve had State Farm for as long as I’ve been driving. When my mom and I swapped vehicles when I was 17, I ended up snagging her policy that’s been in place longer than I’ve been alive. It’s done well by me, every agent tells me to keep it forever. The 0/100 deductible is no longer offered and the longevity credits make it worthwhile. Had my first at fault accident a while back and haven’t seen any changes in the bill. Basically everything is about the same price within a $20 range. From a 14 year old shitbox to a new Rubicon. Not much difference in pricing.

I just switched homeowners and auto to farmers insurance and going thru them for hagerty insurance for my project truck. In case of fire or what not i will get a check for the amount i say its worth.

As with all of these threads, I have to say you guys need to stop comparing rates. Rates are wildly different between states and even between regions within states. Then take into account differences in your credit, types of autos, family members, etc.

With that said, I am an independent insurance agent with access to about 6 different companies in 3 states. For me and my family the best option is Nationwide. I firmly believe they are the best company to work with at claim time. And luckily for me, they happen to have the best rates in my area for the type of customer that I am.

It really is unfortunate that auto insurance has become a commodity where people have been trained by Geico and Progressive that all that matters is getting the lowest rate.

We have Safeco currently. had State Farm for years and then moved to Farmers when the SF rates went through the roof with no explanation. moved to Colorado and the Farmers was outrageous and went back to SF. the rates there kept going up so we went to a broker and they got us with Safeco. i believe Safeco is a division of Nationwide and they were able to offer us the best rates for an umbrella, homeowners and vehicle policies.

Safeco is Liberty Mutual's brand sold by Indie agents.
Encompass is Allstate's, just fyi. (Esurance is being discontinued soon by the way)

My extended is megson Fitzpatrick, but mostly because they are open til 10pm so I can finish at my second job and still get insurance.

I keep the nice rigs with full coverage on state farm, I have homeowners insurance with them so I get a break, and the one time I had to file a claim they were great to deal with. The beaters and wheelers got switched over to progressive about 5 years ago because it's dirt cheap and they're not worth much on paper, so I don't mind if they don't give me $1500 for an ignition and trim piece like state farm did. State farm also started bitching about me adding and dropping vehicles all the time.
