My pellet stove auger motor is whining pretty damn loud and I am wondering if it's fixable. It makes a two second spoiled-kid-wants-cookie-but-was-denied whine for three straight drops then is quiet for the next few then repeats.

Stove works fine but noise is loud AF. I can't tear it apart yet since it's still being used. Has anyone messed with an auger motor like this?

Could that whine be a dry oilite bushing squeaking?

If so, a drop of oil could fix it.

I have an englander, which is meant to be worked on, and an auger motor is a 10 minute job. No idea about your Castle.

A swap is pretty simple but hoping it is fixable.

I get mine off ebay, once they get noisy or jamb when feeding

We had a refrigerator that did the whiney kid noise when I am assuming was running the compressor, PTO, or hydraulics...something back there did that

Eventually we moved, that fix it and I have never heard it again :grinpimp:

Take your oil can and put a drop or 2 on the shaft where it comes out of the bearing and where it goes through the bottom of the hopper. Then ask your GF if it is still making noise.
