"Upon further consultation with the Department of Justice and the Office of the Deputy Attorney General, ATF is withdrawing, pending further Department of Justice review, the notice and request for comments entitled “Objective Factors for Classifying Weapons with ‘Stabilizing Braces’,” that was published on December 18, 2020. As explained in the notice, the proposed guidance was not a regulation. The notice informed and invited comment from the industry and public on a proposed guidance prior to issuing a final guidance document."

Didn't even make it to the end of the comment period.

This shows that if you push back on their BS they will back down.

Hopefully most of you took the time to at least comment if not contact the white house and your reps.

So, are we considering this as a win, or is it just them deciding to wait and prosecute people one at a time, or to take everything down with a Biden AWB?

Have been following it closely and was on my list to write them a letter today. My stance is “If you (ATF/FAT-D want to be consistent, the solution is removing SBR’s from the NFA. If it’s about losing tax revenue, admit it and sell a stamp via the internet or local gun shops. Walk in, pay cash, walk out. There’s no point to registering something unless you intend to confiscate it.”

Worth repeating :smokin:right there.

most believable angle on it I've heard is that someone realized they were about to make SBRs 'common use' by reclassifying all the hundred thousand or more braced pistols
if they did that, then there's an angle to get them off the NFA

I wrote a comment to the ATF stating that it was a clear 2A violation, and that rifle caliber pistols and SBR's are no more deadly or unsafe as any other firearm. Now I'm sure I'm on yet another list.

Wear it like a badge of honor.

When you start dictating and nobody listens, it's the beginning of the end. You are obsolete. Better to keep the status quo until you can enforce the dictates through fear or force.

We are all on the list already anyway.

How many times have they been caught keeping records on 4473s even though they aren't supposed to by law?:mad3:

This definitely isn't over, but they backed down for now.

should start bringing them to buy backs and get your money out of them
just gotta poke a hole roughly centered in the end
