Not sure if there is a thread on this already, but the ATF approval times are BONKERS right now. I certified on Friday at 3:45, got approval on my lunch break today. My buddy picked up two cans, 22 and 46 hours.

I picked up two on Feb 14th. 12 days for one, and 28 for the other.

Time to buy baby!!!

Idk wtf happened but in the last month it went from 6-12 months to single digit days.

Maybe they finaly caught up or fixed the hold up issue's.

No. The ATF changed the way they process paperwork.

They don’t want trusts so they’re approving individual stamps to encourage being lazy.

The system is not longer first in first out, this led to long times as everyone for the approver was in the same bucket so one person could hold up the entire line, resulting in long delays. They have transferred to who ever has an approved Background check moves to the front of the line. So when your NICS comes back, you get put in a different "bucket" and no longer held up by others.

I went and picked my new can up last night, and I was chatting with the guy. He mentioned a rep from silencershop called him to discuss some orders last week, and they are ~2 weeks behind. They are so busy they hired 4 more shipping employees, four more ship stations, and are moving ~4000 boxes a day!

NUTS!

Me thinks that the GAYTF is about to get the Silencer laws overturned and doesn't want to have any back logs.

I should order some.

My last one was submitted back in Dec and I got mine earlier in in May.
I had a buddy get one in a couple of days!

It is crazy. I wonder if they are going to finally declass Suppressors so they're just raking in the tax stamps as fast as they can.

I've done E-Form for 4cans and submitted 2 forms at a time, first 2 cans took 330 and 336 days, my 3rd and 4th took 341 and 343 days. I got my 3rd and 4th in late March 2024.
My son did a E-Form in early Feb 2024 and it went through in 2weeks.
From what I was told by the FFL / dealer the ATF upgraded their system and app in the old system didn't get transferred into the new system.

Over 2.6 million suppressors in civilian hands. It is common usage.

Post 11 explains what the ATF changed.

Oh bullshit! They made them finally get rid of the Foosball table.

This part is correct. I believe the ATF said that only those forms submitted since the new approval system has been in place are being approved in that manner. The back log submissions still have to go through the old process.

Was his trust already established and on file?
I did my trust at the same time as application, 2 months ago.

I'm 40 days into filing one with an existing trust but I'm not sure that the existing part makes any difference to the ATF. I think they go through the same procedure as with a new trust even though they've already approved it in the past.

You would think if you've already been approved using E-Form and apply again your additional apps would go through in a couple days

First suppressor, Hux Ventum 7.62, individual e file through silencer shop, 31 days. Prob could have been shorter if I had the time to get my prints done in a timely manner.

Question, I know that if you have it in a trust, your relatives can take possession of it after you die with no strings. If you have it as individual, do they have to start over and pay another tax stamp?

No. Your dog will be killed at 0300 and the atf will destroy the device after they recover it.

I believe a form 5 is a tax free transfer. I could be entirely wrong on that.
