I am trying to buy an old Chrysler fluid drive transmission and I found one in MN.

Is there anyone here who can buy it, store it a couple weeks and drop it at an LTL terminal?

You're so nice and kind on here I'm sure someone will help you out.
I've never said anything bad about people from the midwest but I don't expect the desert dwellers to notice that. :flipoff2:

Fuckin boomer ass transmission.
The boomers mom's drove this shit and of course they all trashed them when they got their hands on those cars.

Bless your heart.

Dude's one of the top people that runs his mouth and calls everyone names.
And here we are. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to do you a favor just so when you come to pick it up you can talk some more shit to them.

Then again, once no longer safe behind the screen maybe your manners would improve.

fuck I was just in northfield a few days ago
don't get down south of the shitties often at all

what kinda moneys you talking about kicking my way? :flipoff2:

IIRC there's a couple dudes on here that are just barely south of the cities
and a couple that are down near owatonna almost

Rerock was the one I remembered just barely south of the cities, iirc there was another
then there's a dude in iirc stjames (home of scherr-tumico micrometers!) and another dude in austin

I figured you of all people would avoid this thread.

I bet you could just email the guy and tell him you'll email him when you have a reason to go there and he'll probably still have it. I don't think 1940s Chrysler transmissions fly off the shelf.

How much does case of your preferred starting fluid go for?

We'll see if they show up. I don't want to send you off into some shithole if I don't have to.

Isn't there a member here named StJames?

My buddy Miles the king of the hammers announcer is headed there in a couple weeks to see his family, they each make the trip back-and-forth about six times a year but that’s about four steps away from who the fuck is that guy

If he lives in the west Fastenal zone that would actually be worse than nobody picking it up.

Maybe I'll just ask the seller how much he'd charge to pallet and ship. Though if that happens I'm forgoing any opportunity to have someone impartial spin it and confirm it's not locked up garbage.

I'm about 4.5hrs away south east. If he's got any chance of getting it further south like say near La crosse or something

What are you using it for? Just the fluid coupler or you need the clutch & gearbox features too?

Can you not have the seller send a video of him spinning it? It's not 2005 anymore.

Coupler, bell, gearbox. And anything else that I can get with it (shifter brackets, parking brake, etc)

The gearbox and bell that go with the fluid coupler are special.

I probably could but the vibe I got was that this guy was at the limit of his technical ability selling online.

this sounds like a pae thread. wtf are you using that for? doubt you're restoring a chrysler.

I'm in the market for a 1930ish pickup rolling shell this (along with the accompanying flathead) would be going into.

Now that all the people who have these kinda projects are getting old and the economy is not great for their retirement I figure it's now or never.

I figured the drivetrain stuff would be all around by you.

I had a nice pair of boots from up there once. Since Arse has organized all of this and is funding it we should do a group buy.
