I have been recently again. Hadn't done it for years.

You can return anything for any reason? Plus return shipping is on the seller.

Sold a 2014 camaro radio faceplate control piece. It was from daughters car, worked perfectly. $85.

Buyer gets it. Installs it. It doesn't fix his problem. So now he has started a return and ebay automatically approves it. No discussion, no appeal. Nothing.

Then I google it and yet, pretty common thing now.

Luckily I don't do much there so I only have my paypal account linked and it has $16 in it. Good luck getting the rest of the refund money out of me.

But that is messed up. You can return anything for any reason? Plus return shipping is on the seller.

So if I take it back, which I don't have a choice, but if I get it back I am still out $20 for shipping both ways.

And ebay already took their fee of like $8.

wow, I had no idea the world had come to this.

I guess all my spare parts go in the dumpster from now on.

Yeah it's a buyers market. I buy a lot more than sell, have 169 + feedbacks since 2005 or so, so that tells you how often I'm on there. Maybe 15 or 20 of those are sales. I just sold something for 550 bucks, they dinged me for over 10% and even though I'm verified everything under the sun they held the money for 2 weeks. That's the way it is.

Um..... If you have a bank account linked (which you have to have to have an open account) they will take whatever they want from your bank account.

yep I just unlinked my account and deleted all my cards from there stopped auto payments.
Apparently I'm lucky because once the buyer marks it shipped you can't make those changes.

I'll probably calm down in a couple days and let him have his money but dang that is stupid.

Try doing that at a dealership or napa

My mother sells stuff on Ebay as her primary source of income. Antiques, fishing crap (not the good stuff that she keeps), you name it. It's been that way for years. She had a guy buy a running outboard, take off the parts he needed, and return it, claiming it didn't run as in the description. Money refunded. Sometimes they claim they sent it back when they didn't.

She had a major auction house buy a 'lot' of stuff from her, claim they never got it, and got their refund. Then she saw the stuff that they bought from her in their book. No recourse.

Everyone's a fucking crook and they are protected by Ebay.

.

Buy? Constantly.

Sell? Not a freaking chance.

I can totally see someone doing that. Dang. I hate people more everyday.

Still stewing over this.

the Buyer puts this in the return description.

Sorry so late on returning this item but I just now got to install it and it’s doing the same thing as the one I had as far as shutting off when it wants so I am not in need of this item if it’s going to do exactly what the one in my car is doing sorry, I was hoping it would fix the issue by ordering this

Ebay says this in the refund message to me.

Please inspect the item before issuing a refund

I have no way to test "inspect" the item. Buyer says he installed it and had the same problem. How do I know his car didn't burn up this one?

At least I think that will be my response when ebay collections comes after me.

Just refund it, eat the loss and stop using ebay. It hasn't been seller friendly in a long time and it's going to cost you more to fight it than it will to just move on.

Oh I bet yours works just dandy but his old one he is sending back to you isn't. BDTD

He's probably sending you his original broken one.

.edit, too slow.

LOL could be, the only other time I was asked for a refund, when the item arrived it was nothing like what I sent him. He started a return on the wrong item.

Hopefully I have enough pictures to prove one way or another.

and yes I know I will lose, end up giving in and he will get his money, But Geez guys can't you let me feel like I am winning for just a minute. LOL

You guys are awesome.

You learned a very important lesson for the low price of $28.

And that lesson is... "I guess all my spare parts go in the dumpster from now on."

I'd call that a win.
