I have a 2020 John Deere 5065e with 520 loader. Looking at buying a Titan grapple to help with clean up around here when arm heals. I have to add a 3rd function kit. Looked at WR Long and Lane Shark kits. Have heard it’s better to use cont flow component vs divert valve. It seems every kit comes with its own control stick. I want to install rocker switch in my existing JD control stick handle. Anybody have experience with this?

I believe I have a diverter valve on mine. It works just fine for the grapple. I would just go that route no bigger than that tractor is. Mine is slightly bigger. It was dealer installed.

The install on a Kubota L2502 was easy for the cont flow component. Seems like it would be a pain to operate either the grapple or the loader but not both at the same time.

Would suck not being able to use the 3 functions at once though.

Wr long is the way to go. Factory Deere used a diverter in the loader for 3rd function but later added a 3rd valve to the loader control valve.

You can't add a factory switch to a control handle that isn't equipped but you can get a handle off a larger 5 series tractor that does have the switch

Really? I've operated a few machines (simple ones, no big excavators or feller bunchers) and not too often do I need to use 3 functions at once, especially a friggin grapple on a tractor.

I've got a couple thousand hours with a grapple on skid steer.

Would definitely slow things down and make it harder to use with not having all 3 functions at the same time.

Think about even grabbing a pile of brush. You want to be squeezing while lifting and rolling back.

I'd look into adding a valve block in addition. Even if it "stole" flow off bucket lift or curl and slowed it down, that would work better than just 2 functions at once.

I put a WR long on a Kubota. Install was pretty simple and it works well.

I stole the circuit off of the 3pt
ran another valve
can run everything except a 3 pf function
