Phone got dropped.
Bought a new one.

New one wants to import everything from old phone, but can't input the PIN code on old phone because screen is jacked and black and even though I push the numbers correctly where I know they are, it doesn't take the pushed input.

I'm wondering, since I have the PIN code, maybe there might be a way to connect the old phone to my laptop with USB and maybe there's a website or application or emulator or something that would allow me to use my laptop to put in the PIN just to turn it on fully and have it unlocked and ready to pair with new phone to grab all contacts and pics and everything.

PS: I hate new phones that don't have SD cards where all your stuff can be put. One drop and no access to phone = everything is lost it seems.

Try a phone repair place. I was in a similar situation and their approach was to use a good screen they had on hand to access the phone and recover the data.

I wonder what they used to do that, and if any one of us could also do the same on our own.

They probably unplugged the broken screen from the board in the phone and (temporarily) plugged in a good screen they had on hand. If you have the right spare parts in stock and know how to do it, good for you. Maybe open a phone repair shop:lmao:???

Lots of parts, tools, and how-to videos here.

Next time, don't load us down with so much detail.

I took mine in to a designated warranty shop, had the screen replaced, but the body had bent so badly falling 7 stories that it would no longer seal to keep dust and shmarm out of it. I had to replace the phone, but was able to recover everything.
