Any Mercedes fans in here?

isn't that they one they set the cannonball record last year?

Which time? One guy did it in a Benz, another in an Audi and another guy in a rental car full of fuel tanks. All during the pandemic lockdowns so I doubt any of those times will ever be beat.

Meh. They are really ugly and around here they are starting to be on their second owners who put 24” wheels on them. (The CLS in general)

Mom's got a close year SL55. HID horizon control lights can only be replaced as a full unit with controller/servo/transformer ~$1500, computers get kinda glitchy over 100kmi, and you wont find an engine sensor under $200 (parts only). The interiors wear like steel, but the rims chip if someone looks at them sideways. Otherwise, she nursed hers to a little over 200kmi so far. They run like a raped ape tho and comfortable as anything I've been in.

Love my CLK 430. Great highway car. No idea about the newer ones. This to replace the Tesla?

No, a buddy wants me to ride down and check it out with him. If he buys it ill drive his other car home. But hell, if i like it and he doesn't.....:grinpimp:

SLs have an issue with leaking into the trunk during rain too if i recall, but otherwise a beautiful car for the money.

my e55 was batshit crazy wrapped in an unsuspecting family sedan.

m113 enginea are rock solid and good performers, had ml320 ml500 and ml55s as well. Later years m114s i believe had headbolt issues, timing chain sprocket issues, but i think by 2012 were sorted out.

i looked hard at the CLS, nice used car, but sadly depreciates like a rock and im tired of working on complicated shit

I'm a huge merc fan and have owned several. They just delivered a 2021 we ordered last year for my wife to replace her old one. The one in the OP is hideous though and will depreciate fast.

I don't know the model, but apparently there is an 04-06 Benz with the diesel engine that is EXTREMELY reliable and powerful. Pre-emissions crap of course.

Don't mod it. Friend of mine has this, whatever model it is. He did downpipe mods, exhaust, a tune and a couple other things and everything was great until it wasn't. Blew it up almost a year ago and he's been sitting on a $60,000 lump ever since. Didn't take it to the dealer because no way they'd cover anything with all the mods. Nice looking doorstop though!

The OM606 up to 2001 is the gem. Up to 500hp without breaking the bank.
