An old man’s LJ build

So Debbie and I took my girl out for a ride today and went by a farm service store and their scales were turned on any best guess on what she weighed
I was honestly surprised……..

Need pics of Debbie first... :flipoff2::flipoff2:

JK, my guess is 4,800 without tools and recovery gear.

You must live in your moms basement if you have not ran into us in Central Illinois……..

Finally got rained out and had time to work on my jeep again
I will post up some pictures tomorrow or Sunday but I’m headed to the iron Range off-road area the middle of August so I’ve got to get it done!!!

Lord only knows how much I despise wiring and plumbing……..

Super pumped I got all the ARB lines ran including front and rear connection points for pumping up tires. a 1 gallon CO2 tank for additional air and just two small air leaks that took like three minutes to fix!
The compressor runs super but the fan stays on the whole time that the switch is on.
I read online that that is normal didn’t seem quite right but I will go with the flow.
But hold on rear locker works perfect does not appear to have any leaks but I’ve got air coming out of the front vent tube on the front differential too tired and I don’t feel like messing with it tonight I’m hoping it’s just the bulkhead…….
Don’t know that I’ll get that lucky lol

Also made progress on my toy hauler due to the size of this jeep The size of the door was crucial because I don’t have much room to spare I am 91 inches wide in the interior of the trailer is 97 and the door frame is almost 95
So I have to ramp up over my wheel well and we got that done

Well it’s loaded up and it fits like a “Fat man in a little coat” I know I stole that from Chris Farley in Tommy Boy!
And we are on our way to the iron range In northern Minnesota

Actually it’s not bad at all you just open the door walk on the rock rail step on the tire and you’re out the back after you go 40 inches down lol

Well it works!!!
I’m a extremely happy old man!!!

Stop by twisted customs in Piedmont South Dakota to see Jason Paule, and he never disappoints when we get a chance to see him! He’s got a really cool rear steer he’s building right at the moment for a customer that he hast to have finished by next week for the Dakota challenge.
Our relationship with Jason is a long story but it’s a good one
I love being in the Black Hills Even though all I did was run around on black tops and interstate, we got to see stuff that we can’t take the Toter and trailer through, and close to 100 miles total on interstate 90 and 75 miles an hour the jeep was very stable!
I’m super happy with the way the street ability of the jeep has turned out.
And here’s a funny picture of Jason and my wife on some antique scooters Jason had came up with can’t wait to see them done!

A little more progress on the jeep l am getting ready to take another small trip hopefully this weekend
Yesterday I got the plans all laid out and my buddy Dean came out and did some design work to set up this us on his plasma table to build my transmission and oil pan skid plate it’s nothing incredibly heavy but I think it will do what I will ask of it……
I added a couple gussets when I finished welding the two pieces together and the two bolts at the back are mounted through polyurethane rubber
It’s not over kill but it should work

She weighed just shy of 5600 pounds with both of us in it,
IMG_9197.jpeg
my tools and supplies in the box which would probably put us around 5100 pounds actual weight
She’s a hefty girl, but gets around pretty good
Handling characteristics on the road is the best I’ve ever experienced in a big jeep, so I’m pretty proud of the way that turned out. I still need to have a final tune put in the engine and transmission but it’s actually told itself quite a bit which I don’t completely understand so don’t ask me how it does that.
But if you guys know, I would like to hear
