An old man’s LJ build

Looking good! I wish I got my motobilt bumper with the hitch, for just in case use.

Finished up a coil overs on the rear today bolted and the factory front seat down along with the seatbelt and took it for about 12 to 15 miles around the neighborhood and stop by to see Sasquash “ The big dude that you see in some of the pictures helped me build majority of the rig” but he wasn’t there so I sent him a teaser picture.
Then ran over to Joshes house one of the guys that has help me build the jeep also he works for me so this is nothing new to him but he enjoyed driving it I have video but I don’t know how to post it on here.
But I am extremely pleased with the way it drove and I am more excited now than ever on this build.
I would not bet against it with a Corvette between stoplights either it’s spooky fast!

Sweet. Congrats on milestone of getting it out under power.

My nieghbor decided to get his LS LJ out today and give a smoke show as I was cutting concrete.

I’ve got to get a little weight in the rear end I set it up to have a bout an inch and a half of California rake not three lol

Finally figured out someplace to put the reservoirs that was not going to interfere with anything else and did not want them inside of the tub

My buddies are all making fun of my old winch it was actually on my wife’s buggy and probably did not get used 10 times and they were not real hard pulls the cable look like new and was still factory wrapped after two wraps
The one I had just like it went through all kinds of hell and is still out there somewhere working I’ll bet

I really wish it would quit raining around here so I could go back to work and quit fooling with this jeep….
All joking aside I am making some great progress.
Pretty much got the seats all done today
I wanted the front seats to still function much like the factory so my grandkids could have access to the backseat without having to climb all over everything else to get there
So here is my solution to the factory base.

Sorry one of these days I’ll figure out how to keep the pics in order we did away with all the cables and just drilled a hole through the turn lock shaft and inserted that eyelet it works perfectly just have to get your angle correct

Finally getting to finish up my steering and my assist
Years ago I ran AGR steering and had really good luck with it
So when I decided to do this build I got on the phone and ordered the stuff from AGR thinking after I had the first initial contact with them that I was going to be happy with the results could not be any further from the truth
Basically I wound up using nothing from them because it was all junk or undelivered after being charged over $1850 I learned one thing about AGR steering “Steer clear of AGR”
For all I know they may be out of business now, but I had to go through my credit card company to get half my money back
Enough of the rant.

I've heard same story about psc lately too. I've always gone with and have heard great things with Howe.

Although PSC was only "steering" people at EJS. I didn't even go by their trailer.

So I got a little more done today since it rained a bunch more really sucks for my business but good for working on the jeep
I’m finishing up the hydraulic assist and the hoses keep in mind all these are mock up and turned the correct direction tomorrow I have to take them back to the hydraulic shop and crimp them but they will be timed and correct length

So we had an issue with paint and a couple other things that I had to correct And finish up the steering assist
So while the bumper was off we sandblasted it and start it over and I’ll change the color which looks better?
The silver is the new color

I was going to say with those wide flares and fenders non painted there seems to be too much silver going on but I like the silver bumper for sure.
