I've been trying to find some decent shorts that are IBB dude proof.

I've tried these.

YAXHWIV Mens Tactical Shorts 11" Waterproof Cargo Shorts for Men Hiking Fishing Breathable Quick Dry Regular(NO Belt) Amazon.com

They suck. Not comfortable front pockets are not angeled shit quality that falls apart after one season.

These are very comfortable. Ergonomic pockets, stretchy, light weight, wouldn't weld in them but they seem to be holding together. They use velcro and a button for the waist band. I'm not a fan of the velcro. In my experience they fill with fiber, lint and what not. Other than that. Time will tell. Pockets are rivet reinforced so that's cool

Griopex Men's Tactical Cargo Shorts Multi Pockets Work Hiking Shorts for Men Durable Outdoor Camping Travel Fishing Casual Amazon.com

These are very comfortable as well. Again with the velcro at the waist band. No button so I can see these failing in the future. The fabric is soft and gets dirty super easy

I got to wondering what you guys have tried and liked. It's hard to go by reviews. Too many idiots out there.i could by local but it's too time consuming and rarely productive. I have piles of those shorts and they all suck.

Fuck you. They go great with my music. :flipoff2:

Terminology is not important here. The search results are what they are. I like shorts and wear them all summer long at home and work. I hate baggy velcro pockets. These "tactical " shorts are the styles I tend to like. Just need them more durable and no velcro.

Like Target or not, their cargo shorts are good quality at a decent price point.

(but I don’t believe they are tactical, so it may not be relevant here)

If you search just cargo shorts you get shit like this.

I prefer Jean shorts but I can't find any with a phone pocket. That's really the main issue. So tactical shorts it is.

What else is there?

It's all relevant. I just don't want a million baggy velcro pockets.

We have Hamericks here. Seconds on brand names. Shorts are 6 to 9 bucks a pair. All i need and won't pay more.

Also those Wrangler Riggs pockets are DEEP. Really the toughest pants I have ever had. I imagine the shorts are the same.

I've had a pair of Eddie Bauer shorts going on 20yrs now; they're made of rip stop and hold up to all the dirt work/construction shit I've thrown at them, thats the only time they get worn

I'd bet that they're not made like that anymore (shit quality) and triple the cost.

I get whatever BassPros brand are. 25.00 ea. and 4 pair last me more than a year at work, I wear them 365 days a year for the most part

Fuck man those things are like fuckin pantaloons, why even bother at that point?

get you some real shorts with a 5" inseam like chubbies or something.

Funny how Wrangler is hit and miss.

I just bought some Wrangler socks and worst ever in life.
After wearing them just 2 or 3 times, holes in the bottom and tossed in trash.

I've had other socks that last years.

I hear ya. The regular jeans are shit IMHO. But the Riggs stuff is a tank.

I know everyone is on the cancel them train. The carhart cargo’s are the only shorts that work for me.

OKay they'll be here tomorrow (Amazon "try before you buy") that weird little pocket is my only concern. I need to be able to get my leather phone case in there and not be sitting on it. I like a velcroless flap over the cell pocket so the port don't fill up with shit but not the end of the world. My key brand pants are flapless and I deal with it.
